Palmolive, as we know, is a popular consumere goods name. Can we imagine Old Spice Dish Liquid someday?

    Good afternoon.

    Gillette Heritage Razor
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (fresh)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23.5 hrs

    20230817_163738.jpg

Decided to use the mild Gillette Heritage Razor because I had such a close shave yesterday and didn't want to reopen any weeps. I was also psyched to open a brand new puck of the Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender. Here's my lather:

Did a 3 pass shave that was very close and comfortable. During my third pass, I felt a cut coming on my stache so before it started to bleed, I hit it with the alum and kept rubbing it for a good minute. Needless to say that there wasn't any trace of blood or a mark or a skin break. I guess that I can call it an error-free shave. Lol! I was so excited that I put the aftershave on before the witch hazel, so I splashed the witch hazel and hit my face with another round of the aftershave. Sometimes, you have to take preventative measures. Frankly, I was surprised this very mild razor nipped me. Lol! Take care.

That razor probably got you because it IS mild. In my experience, when I am using a razor that I know is aggressive or tricky, I slow down and pay careful attention to what I am doing. It's when I am using a razor that I know is mild or "almost foolproof" that I will indulge in rapid, careless or distracted shaving -- and that's when the nicks happen...

That's true. I am usually on autopilot even when using my straights and I will get a weep because of it. Thankfully, it's a rare occurrence. Anyway, I felt the blade and thought that I gave myself a bad nick, but there wasn't any blood on the alum or skin. There wasn't even a mark. It is been a few hours and still no signs of anything that could be a blemish. I think that it was possible that I stopped the razor in time before any damage occurred. Either way, I am glad that I didn't cut myself.

Very nice shave regardless of the weepers. We all get them, even if we live outside of New England. Tomorrow is another day to get on the horse.
