Thank you Barry. Unfortunately, it appears that the Floid Genuine Vigoroso is no longer in production. I do have the Floid The Genuine in the Southern Den. I prefer the FGV.

 

Accordingly the only difference between the Floid "genuine" & "vigoroso" is the vigoroso has more menthol. Either are/will be superb.

Prep = Cold water prep and shave, Proraso white
Soap / Cream = Stirling Barber Shop supplied some super slick shaving lather
Brush = Puro Tasso boar, an oldie but goodie
Bowl = Timeless
Razor = Merkur Progress 2|3
Blade = Gillette Platinum, an unusual 3rd use for me, seemingly still sharp enough, binned
Passes = Two with touch ups
Technique = Applying more pressure than usual, WTG, XTG during the 2 passes
Post-shave = Cold water rinse > Alum was only slightly present > cold water rinse > Thayers
Left side of face = Nivea balm then Stirling Bay Rum
Right side of face = Stirling Bay Rum then Nivea balm
Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme EdP
Damage = None

Score = 9.5/ 10 super smooth 48 hours cold water shave with my current Favourite Razor and GP blade combo
Comments = Minimal stinging from the Bay Rum ASL, comparable on both sides. Four dabs from the bottle to my hands, rubbed hands and let them air dry for around 5 seconds before applying….next time I will apply more but with no dry down time…not sure why it stung so much on the 14th

Smooth, slick, satisfied and smiling all the way to work…

Not as good a shave as Throwback Thursday, but it was OK. I came back with the Bill Neumann Heartwood duo, and that turned out to be a saving grace, as I had 2 cuts, which the aftershave helped neutralize. Nice job elsewhere. 2 passes. I had to go in and get a little more soap during each pass. As I've said, the aftershave will be gone long before the soap, so I may need to make another expensive BN purchase Halston cologne again to close. . Very Outstanding.

Outstanding three pass shave with the 37c. The CRD synthetic whipped up a nice slick lather and the razor took care of business. I am looking and smelling good for my adventures to Sam’s Club this morning.

Once again, Chef Giuseppe will be prepping for another BBQ tomorrow. Ah the wonders of summer.
