Noxzema is no more

And he has since had a run on Noxzema and is out of stock....What did you guys DO?

 

what can I do? It's gone, it's gone--I'll have to use and love my other creams and soaps....

 

A couple pictures of the tube the NOS Noxzema is in. According to the back, The Noxell company was based here in Baltimore, MD!!

 

you know what--that tube looks EXACTLY, EXACTLY like the Noxzema from Italy that I've been buying since last year.

 

Are you sure the stuff you have been getting is not the tubes pictured below (notice the difference in caps and units of measurement)? If you look on the back do you see any language other than just english? Is it made by Procter&Gamble, or Noxell. Also, is the tube made of a soft plastic, or is it metal like a tube of Proraso? Just curious.............

 

Hehe.... JoAnna. The plastic tube is the one in the post above my last one (post#23). It is the one that lists the amount contained in ounces instead of milliliters.

In my last post (post#25), both tubes in the picture are the same. That picture is from an ad that the dude from Superlather had on the classifieds here. It is of the modern (Italian) version.

 

This is the indredient list for the US version...

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: CAMPHOR, PHENOL (LESS THAN 1/2%), MENTHOL, EUCALYPTUS OIL, CLOVE OIL, PEPPERMINT OIL. ALSO CONTAINS: WATER, STEARIC ACID, COCONUT ACID, POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, SODIUM LAURYL SULFOACETATE, FRAGRANCE, SODIUM METASILICATE.

The Italian version has a few added ingredients such as: DICHLOROBENZYL ALCOHOL, EUGENOL, LIMONENE, LINOLOOL, GERANIOL, CINNAMAL, CITRONELL, BENZYL BENZOATE, CITRAL, ISOEUGENOL, COURARIN

Still on the Noxzema subject, I just read a couple places that there is a cream called Prep that is very close to Noxzema. Any of you guys have an opinion about that? Where is the best place to get it?

 

Ahhh, my Noxzema tubes are from Italy--all but a few words are in Italian. The tubes are metal, like the Proraso tubes, and the stuff is from Procter & Gamble, not Noxell.

Okay, I see you guys are into group buys, and my son brought this up over on R&B. Do any of you guys know how these group buys work? Who could we contact to make a large purchase like that? We need to get a couple hundred tubes of this stuff before it is too late!!!

 

my friend, I doubt it'll be possible. I think the brand will just fade into extinct.

I will personally contact P&G and find out what distributor we would need to contact to get a crate or three of Noxzema LS. If it is possible, and enough people show an interest, I will buy it all up front.

Just to let everyone know. WWW.superlather.com has Noxema for sale(Italian version) now. It is funny to see the original date of this thread and see that it is still...but barely around. I have a feeling this could be our last chance.
