    Hi all.
Working on my shave boredom still, switched to another tool of mine.

    20230826_063200.jpg

A bakelite Alpha Ecliptic Slant Razor.

From the PAA website it tells what the razor was based on.
"German bakelite Walbusch "Humpback" Slant (Walbusch & Sohnes)."
I took a chance on this years ago.
Liked it so much, I bought a second one.
It's an asymmetrical razor meaning it goes together only one way. Most 3 piece razors you can turn the head 180 degrees and it goes together, not this one.
It has quite a bit of blade exposure so riding the cap is imperative for a comfortable shave. Being a slant type it gives a close shave, a feather blade completes the beauty of the design.

Along with one of my favorite shave goo and splash solutions also from PAA, I'm in the clouds.
A two pass head and face shave free from any pain or blood, a very good start to my day.
Mixing with a mug instead of my usual skin lather, the room is filled with the sweet aroma of bay rum.

if there's such a thing, a very needed shave.

    Enjoy

    tp

Blimey. I've just looked at when my last post was... 12 months ago. I had absolutely no idea that it had been that long.

I hope that everyone is in good health and in good spirits.

Since I was last here, I have trimmed my den down to two razors: Fatip Grande & Parker SRX. I also only use Silver Star blades and am just using up the remaining soaps that I have before purchasing any more.

I don't actually use the Parker SRX, my wife uses it to sharpen the lines of Rowan's (our little boy) hair cuts.

I have found that my shaves have become so incredibly consistent and reliable with that razor/blade combination that it seems foolish to keep chopping and changing. It has also brought me full circle with this thread... Focus/Rules really do make all the difference with shaving!

Fine shave this morning with my Oud Wood paraphernalia. The Razorocks I have always do me good. Clean, clear, and fresh all around. No cuts, Knicks, polka-dots. The Agadir aftershave always feels a bit hard at first, but it settles down to a nice scent. I will soon order another "Hair And Body" from them so as to set up the Oud Wood shave. 2 passes. As Outstanding As It Gets.

    Good afternoon.

    Rockwell Model T v1 (4)
    Shaverboy DE Blade (6?)
    Stirling Boar Brush
    Cella SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs

Decided to do an adjustable razor shave in keeping with this month's main theme. Therefore, I picked out my Rockwell Model T. It is a fine razor despite the production problems Rockwell had with it. Cella is always a good choice because it's performance never fails. Here is my lather:

    20230826_162706.jpg

Did a 3 pass shave for a nice, smooth shave without any incidents. There was just a smidgen of alum feedback on my neck. Splashed on that soothing witch hazel and Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave and I am good to go. Tomorrow's shave will be a straight razor shave, but I haven't decided on the razor. However, I am leaning toward my 7/8 Henckels Friodur. Take care.
