Friday morning’s Grand Freeze: L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Junjie/Astra Green day 5 Captain Nemo Absolute Zero SS Prep ASB Captain Nemo Absolute Zero AS Toner Bleu de Chanel Deodorant Stick Bleu de Chanel EdP There are no two ways about it - this Absolute Zero soap and aftershave are so damned frigid that they both compete with any of the Stirling Glacials. The soap’s vegan formula is excellent - the lather is fabulous and so slick, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is perfect. The Prep felt so good when I massaged it on, the Absolute Zero aftershave toner put another coating of icicles in my face, and finally the gorgeous Bleu de Chanel fragrance - now I’m good to go. Thursday's Cold Water Shave Cold Water Rinse Arko Stick Shave Soap Ever-Ready C-40 Boar No Notch Gillette Super Speed Gillette Silver Blue CWR Dickinson's Witch Hazel Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC The Arko Stick Shave Soap lathered well with Ever-Ready C-40 Boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the No Notch Gillette Super Speed Razor and a Gillette Silver Blue Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and then Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
SE SOTD, Friday September 8th 2023 Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm AC type + a Yaqi Milano 316 SSP- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Very simple clamping system with small head parts(I work over a wash cloth for assembly). This little razor head is one of my best performers for consistent shaving 95%> of the time. If a person is considering SE AC shaving it is very affordable (Excalibur 50mm)but not as affordable as a Gem ASR razors because Gem PTFE blades are much cheaper and last longer from my Experiences. Had a stellar comfortable close shave this morning! Blade : Schick proline p30(3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. Schick proline is a good match for my Yaqi Excalibur. Soap : Razorock Irish spring, nice fresh interesting soap with some excellent lather qualities, hard to beat for lather qualities IMO.It is one of those soaps the more you use it the more your enjoy it. Just opened up my 2nd tub this morning! Brush : Yaqi "Rainbow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic, excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Excellent brush for general shaving needs is my conclusion. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Razorock Irish spring with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent stellar comfortable close shave with my Yaqi SE Excalibur 50 mm razor with a Schick proline. Have some great shaves!
