    Yes. Or user inexperience perhaps. I have had about three latherless shave creams or gels. The Burt's Bees one did such a wretched job that I threw it in the garbage. This one and a Portland General Store "Alpine Jelly" are the only ones I still have... and both are now discontinued. (PGS went out of business before Covid hit. And Neutrogena just dumped its entire line of Men's skincare products.) Hand-smearing my shaving product on my face just isn't something I do very often.

    Great shave and I hope the day with Mother goes well.

    I love cocobolo wood in knife handles and small objects - it has such a rich deep grain.

    And the shave products sound interesting: I don't think honey is a common scent. In high summer here, I would be inclined to worry about attracting wasps with that scent!

    Lol! Well it would be fuzzy anyway because I don't headshave until the 3rd day and tomorrow will be the second day. I will be wearing my cap tomorrow at our diner.

    I will have to bring out my Ralf Aust straight with the cocobolo scales before the end of this week.

    Good afternoon.

    Schick I-1 Injector Razor
    Personna Injector Blade (1)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Cella SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24.5 hrs.

    Decided to go with an easy shave so I picked the mild I-1 razor. It's the first time that I have used the Personna Injector Blade and based on this shave, I like it.
    All the platitudes about Cella have been mentioned so there's no need to reiterate them. Here's the Cella lather:

    I only needed 2 passes for a BBS shave because yesterday's shave was very close. There were no issues and that's always a good thing. The alum feedback was mild. After the witch hazel treatment, I splashed on that old man aftershave to finish this session. Take care.

    Hey, I’ve got a black/chrome Type I too. Definitely a fun shaver! It was the one Type I that made the cut when I reorganized a few years ago. It’s been semi-retired since the Asylum Injector hit the scene. Buuuut,,, it is SEptember… ok, you convinced me. On deck for tomorrow.

    Well, my 30 day focus is still underway, but I've decided to only shave every other day. This is working well for me, regardless of whether I use an OC or my Tech or my ATT Weber. I'll probably go back to the antique place this weekend and likely pickup that Stick Schick, if it's still there.

    Greetings,

    Last summer shave and the beginning of the 2023 autumn equinox.

    A comfortable smooth shave to finish the summer off in style.

    Throughout the week the Wilkinson Sword Classic blade has performed superbly throughout the week feeling smooth & efficient...I will carry on using them next week.
    The Vie-Long shave stick/horsehair brush duo performed wonderfully providing a slick protective lather for the full shave without re-apply it to my face.

    The performance & post shave feel from this shave stick is absolutely superb. A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

    My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine. ;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen. :cool:

    Prep = Cold Water Prep with 3x 30s cold water soaks, back to my blue Proraso Pre shave (Aloe and Vit E)
    Soap / Cream = TOBS Lime Zest, same lathering technique as y’day, same loading, same incremental 6 cc of water added. Nice lather. Easy to load, easy to lather. The Best of my soaps yet? No, but still very serviceable. Pleasantly refreshing but not very Zesty, so I would not replace this
    Brush = Vulfix 20 mm super badger excelled once again
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette New short OC
    Blade = Voskhod (2)
    Passes = 3 and then some liberal clean ups with more hand-applied lather
    Post = CWR, alum, CWR, Thayers, Nivea balm, Stirling Bay Rum
    Damage = none

    Comment = Super smooth 9.5/ 10 shave
    Taking shorter strokes in the convex and convex areas, by default these touch up moves are turning into short multi-pass buffing strokes
    I have come to the realisation that there are some areas of my face/neck/beard that can take more pressure than others, and have never been nicked yet, so this is the time to explore the limits of those areas, especially in the twirly areas. Upper and Lower Lips and corners of the mouth will always need very light pressure
    The Gillette New OC and the Voskhod both served me well today, might the Voskhod out for third run too

    Have a lovely Wednesday and super shaves everyone
