Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Wrights Coal Tar Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Tuxedo synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Eco Warrior Bergamot and Lime shaving Bar. (Old Recipe)
Razor: Merkur 34C - Wilkinson Sword Classic. (D1) (Face)
Razor: Gillette Guard. (D3) (Head)

Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. /Alum Block rub. /Cold Water Face Rinse. /Duru Mandarin Cologne./ Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

A new eclectic shave set up to start the first day of Autumn 2023.

The Merkur 34C & Gillette Guard mowed through my face & head stubble effortlessly making my first day of autumn face & head shave a pleasurable experience...A great inexpensive shave set up that all worked together superbly.
Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Cooling Gel.

My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.

Brush = RR Plissoft
Bowl = Timeless
Razor = Eversharp Hydromagic black handle L-1
Blade = Personna (day 5)
Passes = 3 + ½ + clean ups
Post = Usual + Rinfrescante
Scent = Proraso Vetyver
Damage = minimal redness top lip, my own fault for going ATG in 4th pass: cold water dealt with this
Score = 9/10
Comments = Great shave, super smooth. Still not as nice as my Progress or Gillette razors, but getting better

Occasion? Courtesy of this kind gentleman, it used to be the Queen's Birthday but nowadays the UK/Commonwealth has a King.



Australia is part of the Commonwealth, Different States/territories "celebrate" on different dates...



No idea who decides on the dates, most Ozzies are too happy for the odd long weekend here and there!

 

Ah. Interesting. Canada is in the Commonwealth too. Here in Canada, we also used to celebrate the Monarch's actual birthday -- up until Queen Victoria's reign. Her birthday was May 24. She reigned for so long that the country just standardized on using May 24 to represent celebrating the Monarch's Birthday and it's been that way ever since, regardless of who the current Monarch is or when their actual birthday falls.

Sounds like plan, Gary. I have a feeling that it somehow has the potential to be an awful plan for both of us, but it's definitely a plan!

 

My shave this morning can best be described by DURING and AFTER. The DURING was very well done except for South Porcupine(chin). I saw 5....count'em 5. red marks, ranging from Knick to Cut down there. I didn't yelp with pain, they just HAPPENED. The WTF Bay Rum is quite thick, so you must be careful in the shave action to avoid redness. I wasn't. The AFTER persuasion was better-the cold rinse helped neutralize what I formed at South Porcupine, and the Stephan Bay Rum aftershave was good as a healer, too. There's still SOME red, not nearly as much, though. As my errors appear to be around the South Porcupine area, I began thining about leaving that area unshaven. Haven't finalized this though..Let's see what haopens tomorrow with the same arsenal, different brush. Hopefully South Porcupine will look better. KINDA OUTSTANDING.
