Yes, it was time to bring out Max. Lol! I also needed a headshave so the Mühle R102 got the nod. I like Cella's performance and so it got the nod, too. Unfortunately, it's scent of almond cherry is gone. I made sure that I had enough lather for my face and headshave. Here's today's lather:

Did 3 passes with Max for a nice, close and comfortable error-free shave. I have only refreshed this blade once in 83 shaves and it's still good. However, I believe that I will have to hit it on my pasted strop at around 90 shaves. I did the same amount of passes with my R102 on my dome and got a dolphin smooth error-shave. The alum was mostly silent all around. Splashed on the witch hazel and Stirling's Glastonbury aftershave. I will be using this aftershave when I use soaps that are lightly scented because I want to deep-six it. Take care.

  6. Lol! This is my 13/8 ArtRazor 1000 and it's 3/8 of an inch wider than my Max. I will be shaving with this big guy later in the week.

Same Sept Setup as Yesterday....another great shave with Sterling, Synthetic and SE razor. Now day 7 of my Personna SE blade...starting to tug... or just feels that way because of a 22 hour shave?

Will skip tomorrow and find out on Thursday

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday

  12. Looks like some gremlin grated your shave stick and hid it in a tub. Glad you were able to find it. :happy108: Great shave Barry.

  14. My first shave with Mike's Natural turned out fine. It looks more like a cake than a cake itself. Similar to my Bill Neumann soap, where you just shave from the top of it and some of it will slide down the sides. It has the "triple play" of ingredients(my terminology): Tallow, Lanolin, and Kokum Butter.(Course the Kokum Butter can be substituted by Kaolin or Bentonite Clay in others). I can do a little better job of loading next time(took me a while to get into a rhythm). As I keep working with Mike's, I'll discover its smooth finish(I mean I discovered that somewhat NOW, but"the more the merrier"). Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. 2 passes. I can do better tomorrow up at NW Cactus(near the ingrown hair area). Good work in all other areas. Very Outstanding, for this Mike's opener.
  15. Terrific encore shave Chris.
