    (Same again, Encore shave
    sticking with Sterling, Synthetic, Sample, Single Edge for a mini focus)

    48 + hours
    28 Sep 2023.jpg
    Prep = Cold Water Prep and shave, Proraso Pre shave
    Soap / Cream = Sample Sterling Barber Shop
    Brush = Razorock Plissoft
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Schick SE
    Blade = Personna Injector PTFE (day 8)
    Passes = 3 +
    Post = Usual CWR, alum, CWR, new bottle of Thayers Lavender, Rinfrescante
    Scent = Proraso Vetyver Cologne
    Damage = none

    Score = 9 / 10
    Comments = Day 8 >>> the blade seems fine, maybe a bit draggy? despite the excellent lather. Very smooth everywhere, even zone 8 right lower neck, better than ever
    Could have done better top lip left, found left-overs there after my clean up otherwise this would have been a 9.5 / 10
    My first bottle of Thayers is finished, this lasted about 10 or 11 months, not too shabby,

    I think this will become a simple "fun to have" razor after I've used it for 30 days. Likely won't use it often as I want to be fully committed to OCtober!

    What a marvelous shave for me on this Throwback Thursday! The Razorock Tallow soap entered my face and neck with ease. The Maggard brush did its job all over, resulting in across the board zeroes for Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I still have issues solving the astroturf a NW Cactus(which partly borders with S. Porcupine(chin&jawline). Could well become a focus for the upcoming month of OUDtober. The Clubman A.S. did its usual magic to close out the shave(no cologne needed). Super Duper Outstanding.

    I need to make a suggestion on writing posts. First, I want to say that I appreciate everyone that post here.
    Second, this is not a slap in the face to anyone here.

    Since taking the helm 2 years ago, I have been quite lenient on directing this site and I think that I have been very positive and encouraging to a fault. I have allowed off topics here and I am cool with it. In fact, it breaks up this thread in a good way when you share some personal things going on in your lives.

    I joined this thread almost 5 years ago because I was a newbie and needed to learn about wetshaving. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have obtained here because it would have taken me longer to achieve the skills that I have today.

    With that said, I want to remind everyone that this is a teaching thread for newbies and veterans. We all can learn from one another.
    In that spirit, we need to write shaving posts that everyone understands. IOW, if you are shaving the chin, mustache, cheek and neck, then use those words because if someone new comes on the site, then they have no idea what the blazes you are talking about when you are not specific. It's not fair to you and it's not fair to them. Also, the post is much more easier and interesting to read when you use those exact words of neck, mustache, neck and cheek.

    For example, I have used the acronyms ATS and IBSS in my posts, but used parentheticals with the exact words next to them so that people aren't scratching their heads and thinking ??? Again, when writing posts, please do so in such a manner that everyone can understand what your talking about. I don't want to see animals and plants used to describe shave areas. Save your creative writing for your journals or whatever. Thank you all for your consideration.

    Razor: Taylor Eyewitness 1000
    Brush: Leo Frilot ECWS 2018 Ghost Trails
    Lather: Lather Bros. Calle Ocho
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    Yes the clock is ticking on the Calle Ocho. Another fine lather with this soap which yielded a super close shave courtesy of the Taylor Eyewtiness 1000. I did my usual three passes without incident.

    Spent the morning running errands Ss and a doctor appointment with my mother. Now I am getting ready to go to an away soccer game to watch my son play. All in all, a busy day.

    Hope you are all enjoying your day.

    I decided to repeat shaves this month.

    This time, I repeated my last shave exactly, including the pattern of shaving passes.

    My usual pattern is WTG on the face and ATG on the neck. This time, I went WTG all over. That was all I really needed for a DFS. However, I decided to do a second pass. My second pass was XTG everywhere. I avoided ATG on my neck entirely today.

    The result was silent alum and - so far- no blood spots.

    In keeping with my "skin clearing" theme, I finished with a splash of the PGS Willow toner. The black willow bark extract in it contains salicylic acid, which is well known for its astringent properties.
