They came from behind and that definitely makes it a great game. Glad the trip coming home was going to be pleasant until you hit traffic at the NJ/NY border.

    Same setup again...
Except I used an Elios blade , one I had tried early on in my wet shaving journey, and hated.

Today it was fine! Sharp and smooth combo

I can see why folk stick with one razor/soap/brush/blade combo...
    ... although that wouldn't qualify as a hobby:cool:

Single pass and some strategic touch ups
    "that'll do for now"
First time I ever settled for that
    Liberating

Since I only used the blade for 1 1/2 passes I will give it another spin next time

    Have a great day all.

Awesome Chris. Here on this thread, we suggest if something doesn't gel, then put it away and try it again at a later date. The reason is that as a shaver gains experience and improves on their method, he/she usually doesn't have a problem using a previously troublesome setup. Your example proves our point.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head shave)

    Early morning Shave,

Everything in my shave set up this morning worked together superbly.

The mild efficient Gillette Guard performed wonderfully mowing through my head/dome stubble with ease...The pivot design is a great bonus for head shaving. What i like about it is the wide gap open comb head so there is no clogging whatsoever it's super safe for head/dome shaving. The overall finish is DFS and comfortably smooth with no irritation or cuts. If only the handle had more weight, it would be perfect.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

In keeping with my new Cunning Plan to Titanic a soap this fall, I am continuing to use the same setup and will until the Neutrogena shave cream tube is empty. Today's shave was one pass to get back to cleanshaven. Elapsed shave time was between three and five minutes.

A note in passing: a few months ago, when I emptied my current bottle of commercial drugstore shampoo, I replaced it with shampoo soap bars made by some of our shave soap vendors. Lately, I have been using Ogallala Bay Rum's bars of bay rum and vanilla scent. I am on my second one and have one to go. Mixed review: the bars have a great scent and do an excellent job of cleaning and conditioning my hair. And - like most shampoo bars - they are a "greener" alternative to the commercial shampoos. My main complaint is that the Ogallala Bay Rum shampoo soap seems to be quite a soft soap and the bars don't seem to last very long. I don't think I will replace them.

My next "bar" after I use up the Ogallala Bay Rum ones will be a Duke Cannon "puck". Just from touching it, it seems to be a much harder soap and I bet it will last a lot longer. (In fact, the packaging claims it should last for 175 washes...). If it does a good job of cleaning, I expect it may become my new go-to shampoo.
