Excellent shave Joe. What was your temporary fix for the brush?

Thanks Joe. Apparently you missed this post that explains my fix.

    Good afternoon.

    Shavette Shave #494
    Parker SRB
Gillette Wilkinson Sword 1/2 DE Blade
    JR #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
Captain's Choice North SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

I went with my other shavette and that was the Parker. I also picked out the Captain's Choice North soap and aftershave. It seems the more I use it; the easier I pick up the juniper scent. It's not overbearing, but it is still nice. Here's my lather:

Yes, I was able to use this brush based on GeoFatboy's hack solution. Here's the video. You can stop at the 2:10 mark because he goes into other handy tips.

I used the heavy duty brown napkins from 7-11 and it worked like a charm. I want to see how long this lasts. I had the brush on a stand and the knot is still in place. At least I can still use this brush until I properly fix it.

Anyway, I did an error-free 3 pass shave that was comfortable and smooth. The alum feedback confirmed my results. Finished this shave in my usual manner.. Take care.

I'm still on the same setup for the month.

    Prep: Shower
    Lather: Bigelow
    Brush: Synthetic
    Razor: SV OC
    Blade: Astra (3)
Post: warm rinse, cool rinse, alum block (just a touch of feedback all over) and Shulton Old Spice

Post script - the note about Blackland taking on the ATT brand inspired me. I sold my first gen Blackbird in the midst of my divorce for ALOT more than I paid for it. It was in my top 2 razors for my face. Well, I ended up buying a new stainless Blackbird in a fit of unbridled online shopping. Just to say, being retired and drawing a pension and being hired at the same rate I retired at for this year, makes my bank account much more comfortable.

Dang, this month has been pretty much an incredible razor month. Toggle for a decent price and then being replated for a bit more money and now a Blackbird. I'm going to have to hide my debit card!

Congrats on getting a new Blackbird Troy. Great that you can get a pension and still work.

I will be going to Pasteur's Pharmacy Octoberfest MeetUp in NYC on the 21st so I need to be careful and not go crazy. LOL!

I am looking to pick up some TOBS and maybe some Capt Choice as well. It will be my first visit to this mecca for wetshavers.

Fine shave Danny. When I am at Pasteur's Pharmacy, I just may take a whiff of Simpson's shave soap.

Thank you Joe...Yes I'm moving on from canned stuff. My plan however, is to keep adding the cans occasionally in future shaves purely to use them up.

Much better shave today than yesterday. I had the same arsenal, except a different

    Brush-The Clubman Pinaud(synthetic)

I can TOLERATE the brush, but it isn't one of my favorites. Saying that, I did well in the swirling department. No Cuts, Polka-dots. One Knick at the S.E. corner of North Porcupine(or for you football fans, the ALABAMA of N. Porcupine). Painless, so that is good. Everywhere else other than the Knick was fine. 2 passes. Nice job again with the Fine Latigo(Knize 10 dupe.) Mostly leather with K 10, but it doesn't have the same temperature as leather you'd find in Minsk(Russia)or Texas-Oklahoma rodeos(USA). Nice and cool. I can already see the bottom of the Latigo soap jar. Course that doesn't mean much-still a long way to go. Super Duper Outstanding.

    SRS # 976 - Fougere Friday - Brocha

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Drew Dick 7/8” Quarter Hollow Purple Heartwood
Brush: Brent Jacobson Tamarind and Ebony w/ Paragon 24mm boar
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Another close and comfortable shave to start the day following my workout and walk routine. Another beautiful but cool morning.

The three pass shave with the Drew Dick razor delivered a close and comfortable shave. The boar brush whipped up a nice lather, not too thick or thin, just right. I hear one of you fine folks saying, “Goldilocks shave.”.

I did receive a minor report from the alum, however, the witch hazel, balm and splash finish off this shave nicely.

    Have a great day gentlemen.
