Maybe not as grand a Grand Freeze as I would normally have on a Menthol Monday but still very cold as well as refreshing. My dear brother Fernando’s Peppermint Lime soap and aftershave smell beautiful - the scent is exactly what it implies - peppermint with invigorating lime. The soap’s tallow formula promotes such awesome, slick lather, the menthol sensation is at around an 8/10 on my Menthol Scale, and the skincare is so soothing. The Prep and the Peppermint Lime aftershave were a great finishing combo. Finally the lovely Aramis fragrance and I’m ready for the new week. These 7 AMs are pretty good blades - this one helped me get a brilliant three pass BBS shave!

Delightful start for this week's shaves. The Star/Gem combo is brilliant and those Gem Super Stainless blades are really sharp! A fine/easy 2 pass BBS was had and my face is happy. Now go enjoy your day folks.

ASRazor shave, Monday, Oct 16th 2023

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher- Mfg 1919-1920, mild to tame mid range. One of my favorite SE razors that was designed slightly different than the Gem Jr bar 1909 that is also a nice razor to use also. Well built to last with a little care and you still can combine a antique with a modern Gem blade for outstanding results I have concluded. Had a comfortable close shave with a new fresh Gem blade this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : TOBS herbal sandalwood, nice rich herbal scent 6-7/10 strength with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Deep stones" 24mm Boss synthetic knot, excellent lather generator, heavenly luxury cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood + a dollop of Geo F Trumper Sandal wood skin food.
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Star bar #4 1919-1920 with a fresh Gem blade.

I have that same Seaforth mug, but it came with just a few crusty bits of soap in the bottom. What was the soap like? Is it up to par with other vintage pucks?

Prep: Warm shower:/ Nivea Men Power 24H Fresh Effect Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
Brush: Semogue 1470.
Blade: Gillette London Bridge. (D1)
Face & Head Lather.
Lather: Eco Warrior Bergamot & lime Shaving Bar. (Old Recipe)
Razor: FaTip Grande.

Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/ Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./ Alum Rub./Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel/Yelkin Lemon Eau De Cologne./Aloe Vera Gel.

Early morning Shave,

It's been a while since I last done a head/dome shave using the FaTip Grande so out of curiosity this morning I've gave the Gillette guard a break.
The difference in aggression and blade feel in the Fatip to the Gillette guard is considerably more however, after the first few stroke I found my shaving angle & felt comfortable, using the lightest of touch the Fatip mowed through my head/dome stubble with effortless ease feeling smooth & efficient.

Using the Fatip this morning I had to focus more doing the head shave which took longer to do than with the Gillette guard which wasn't an issue for me as I look forward to my head and dome shaves plus the finishing result using the Fatip was super close & smooth with no nicks or irritation.

The Eco Warrior soap bar provided a wonderful slick lather rubbing it directly into my stubble like a shave stick, then started to build up a lather with my damp Semogue 1470 adding water to the tips of the brush to get the lather to the consistency that I prefer.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine.
