Thanks Chris. I started using a shavette (my trusty Dovo to be exact) in Oct 2018. That's 5 years ago. I started traditional straight razor shaving with my Dovo Special straight razor the following month Nov 2018. I joined this thread Dec 2018. Time flies when you are having fun.

Excellent soap and aftershaves Gary. As a reminder, I am attending the Octobershave Meetup at Pasteur's Pharmacy this Saturday. I have to use some restraint, so I am limiting myself to no more than 2 soaps and aftershaves.

It's A and E's low tier brand and have heard good things about it. As you know, I like citrus scents so I will check it out. I was thinking TOBS Royal Forest and maybe puck of Master Soap Creations. I don't know what scent that I would get with Master Soap Creations. I think with Pasteur's vast selection that I am going to be dizzy looking at everything. I know at this meetup they are going to have samples from the different artisans that are going to be present. I believe Wholly Kaw, Catie’s Bubbles and Strike Gold Shave will be there with a few others. Of course, I have to get some P/C Lilac Vegetal since I am out of it.

yes sir,it's his old fashioned shave cream line.and if it's lower tier many others need to buck up a bit ..:D.i bought 2 tubs..just incase he changes it again..;)
this is his other one..[IMG]..ouzo i think..

    from the website..

My grandfather (on Greek side) we called Pappouli. He drank ouzo with his coffee every day. Sometimes a bit too much and would fall asleep at the cash register (family restaurant). He would have loved this. Pappouli was from Sparta.

Santorini is our latest aquatic with a hint of Ouzo. It smells amazing with a nighttime vibe. I added lemon, as we all know the Greeks love lemon.

Notes: Maglini Lemon, Osmanthus, Orchid, Cassis, Aquatic & Marine notes, Ozone, Ouzo, Musk, Amber, Myrrh

Ingredients: Stearic acid, water, beer, shea butter, castor oil, potassium hydroxide, manteca, tallow, palm oil, glycerin, sunflower oil, sodium hydroxide, coconut oil, jojoba, fragrance

    Brush: Semogue 1470.
    Blade: Gillette London Bridge. (D1)
    Face & Head Lather.
Lather: Eco Warrior Bergamot & lime Shaving Bar. (Old Recipe)
    Razor: FaTip Grande.

    Post:
Cold water Face & Head wash with brush squeezing's,/ Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./ Alum Rub./Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel/Yelkin Lemon Eau De Cologne./Aloe Vera Gel.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head shave)

    Early morning Shave,

It's been a while since I last done a head/dome shave using the FaTip Grande so out of curiosity this morning I've gave the Gillette guard a break.
The difference in aggression and blade feel in the Fatip to the Gillette guard is considerably more however, after the first few stroke I found my shaving angle & felt comfortable, using the lightest of touch the Fatip mowed through my head/dome stubble with effortless ease feeling smooth & efficient.

Using the Fatip this morning I had to focus more doing the head shave which took longer to do than with the Gillette guard which wasn't an issue for me as I look forward to my head and dome shaves plus the finishing result using the Fatip was super close & smooth with no nicks or irritation.

The Eco Warrior soap bar provided a wonderful slick lather rubbing it directly into my stubble like a shave stick, then started to build up a lather with my damp Semogue 1470 adding water to the tips of the brush to get the lather to the consistency that I prefer.

Another enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

    Photos to come this evening

    Prep: Shower
    Lather: Bits and Bobs
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft
    Razor: Blackland Blackbird
    Blade: Personna (1)
Post: Cool rinse, alum (little feedback) and Shulton Old Spice

2 pass shave. I was reminded that the Blackbird is the razor that showed me how to get the proper angle. The long handle feels right and the weight is about perfect.

Great shaves Barry! I prefer aggressive razors when I shave my dome because I headshave every 3 days. I am not afraid to use the Mühle R102 (R41), the Schick E3, the GEM MMOC, and my adjustables at max setting. However, I like using my mild razors on the dome, too.

Aaand a much better shave today than that which started the week. The key improvement-zeroes across the board o the cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots persuasion. I did leave a little too much astroturf close to the Ingrown Hair area-I'd better make sure to get that tomorrow so as not ADD to the ingrown hairs. But other than that, a nice job everywhere else. 2 passes. My recent lack of energy(that's what colds can do)made me think about stopping afer the first, but somehow I struggled to get the second done. Super Duper Oustanding.

Last shave: Saturday - 3 days

    IMG_20230911_171050_kindlephoto-64131404.jpg

For my 60th birthday, I considered doing a special shave with my newly arrived Crown Shaving Co shaving cream and aftershave lotion (ably enabled by Gary @brit). However, I decided to Remain Strong and stick with my Cunning Plan(TM) to Titanic the Neutrogena shave cream tube. (It's definitely getting there now.) I did add one of my favourite lotion and splash combos at the end though.

Today's shave was again one pass to get back to cleanshaven. The vintage Schick blade is still going strong on its 14th outing. No idea how long it may last... I did the alum test today, and it was silent.

Cleanshaven, smelling good (I like bay rum), and ready to face the day.
