Thank you Chris...How many other blades are made in China?...Here is a selection of some I've tried and tested.

    1. Gillette Super Blue. which are made by Gillette P&G in Indonesia which I like to use these with my vintage Tech razors.
    2. SuperShave X Platinum blade which are manufactured in china made of swedish steel for Mers UK...These are a smooth efficient blade with good longevity I normally only use my blades twice, with a few rules to the exception then change them. but the
SuperShave X Platinum I could easily get 4 good shaves from one blade.

The trouble with buying any DE blades is they are so many fake ones, especially from China, however these are a few that I've got in my vast blade collection that I've had success with.

Right, one of my sons likes his watches, Oris and Roberto Clemente come to mind....

Well then Joe, is there a 500 or 1000 straight shaves thread?

Just so, it just happened like that, time for a change of pace I think before I get too complacent.

Razor: AJ Jordan Old Faithful Cocolobo scales
Brush: Shore Shave Cool Mint Water 24 mm Synthetic
    Lather: Williams Mug Soap
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva (Spanish)
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I encoded to go with an all time classic shave today therefore The Williams, soap and aftershave, stepped up to the plate.

My procedure for lathering the WMS has been modified to provide a little more slickness and moisture to prevent the soap from possibly drying out. Not that I have had any significant problems in the past. Therefore, with a damp brush I load the soap from the mug for about thirty seconds. In the lathering bowl, I have place 5 drops of vegetable glycerin. The loaded brush is placed into the bowl to grin the process of whipping up a nice lather. Periodically, I add a few drops of water. Within about 2 to 3 minutes I have a nice, creamy and this lather which during the shave stays on my face with any signs of disappearing.

I did my usual three passes with the AJ Jordan straight. The end result was a smooth and comfortably close shave. I did receive some minor feedback from the alum. I am looking and smelling good this morning.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

There is no such thread. It seems Joe C and I are the only ones that keep track of the number of shaves. Joe C goes further and numbers his safety razor shaves.

    Good afternoon.

    One Blade MicroTouch TTO Razor
Dorco ST 300 DE Blade (2)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Van der Hagen Select SS
    Stirling Glastonbury AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23.5 hrs

    20231019_152658.jpg

It's been almost a month since I used a safety razor for a face shave so the mild One Blade MicroTouch got the nod. It really is a rebranded Van der Hagen Razor. Hence, I picked the Van der Hagen Soap to go with the razor. I have to say that I'm quite surprised how well the Dorco Blade performed. It was quite smooth and it gave me a BBS shave without any errors, and with very little buffing on three passes. Now, I don't know how it would do on my 2 day stubble, but that needs to be answered for another time.
    Here's today's lather:

    20231019_153054.jpg

There wasn't any alum feedback. Finished the shave with the application of the witch hazel and the Stirling Glastonbury aftershave. I don't have the matching soap because I will not order it again. It's a nice scent, but I am not enraptured by it. I am trying to use up this aftershave whenever I use a mild and neutral soap like VdH Select soap. I will be mostly using my safety razors for the rest of the month with a smattering of shavette shaves. Take care.

Excellent Fat Friday shave. The Dscosmetics AX-SE Zinc razor is an excellent sub $20.00 razor. Your choice of stainless steel handles, zinc top caps...comes with three zinc base plates. It shaves well above its price point.
