SRS # 987 Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Wester Bros. 6/8” 33 Fraternity Brush: JTSpartan Boar 24 mm Lather: Williams Mug Soap Aftershave: Sailor Jerry Spiced Navy Additional Care: Omega Alum Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm Outstanding shave this morning with the classic Williams Mug soap. Three passes with the Wester Bros. Straight.
A much better shave this morning than that of yesterday. The difference may have been I had a hotter lather today. Clean and clear all around. 2 passes. As I frequently say, the first pass was good enough, but you don't want to waste that soap. No Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Did better on North Porcupine right side, but still left some astroturf. Maybe that area WANTS me to grow a mustache again. Naah, I should just do a better job there. Clubman A.S. was great. Super Duper Outstanding.
Thanks Joe, I believe you are correct! Thank you Joe, the Cella is nice and slick, lathers well and doesn't dry out during the shave. It's a keeper!
03 Nov 2023 No Repeat November: different blade, different brush 24 hours Usual prep Cella: 1 scoop pressed into the Timeless bowl slowly adding 5 cc water, still half of the scoop left at the end of the shave, so really only need ½ scoop in future Rocket HD Old Vulfix Pure 20 mm Gillette Platinum (1) @Trigger, too right, much better blade.. this one is sharper and smoother Usual post treatment Proraso Rinfrescante & Proraso Cypress & Vetyver Lovely start to another Friday Have a great day one and all, yet another weekend is upon us
Good progress Paul, no damage is a winner from anyone's point of view! Moustache anyone? take your pick...it's November after all Lol! ( I last had a moustache when I got married many moons ago. I still cringe when I see the wedding photos! )
WOW, thanks for adding the various mustache styles. Don't know which one I'd choose. Maybe the Regent.I was thnking of letting my chin hair grow some-now we're talkin BEARD.
Well, I ALWAYS have a different brush than the previous day-don't like to use the same brush back-to-back. One outta two ain't bad.
November 3 SOTA Good afternoon. Schick I-1 Injector Razor Personna Injector Blade (4,5) Stirling Boar Brush Cella SS Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Stirling Alum Block Modessa Witch Hazel Beard Growth: 25 hrs Dome Turf : 3 days Did a 2 pass face and 3 pass headshave without any incidents. I am smoother all around. I want to endeavor using Cella more frequently because I want to get rid of it. It performs great, but the cherry and almond scent has long gone. I'm into aromatherapy for my shaves and that's why I like wetshaving. I find that blooming and loading the brush from the puck eventually will make the scent non-existent. It's why I bowl lather. Here's my lather. I had very little alum feedback and it was mostly on my dome. Splashing the witch hazel and the AV Ice Blue aftershave finished this session. Take care.
Y'know, since I signed up for Bill Neumann's newsletter a few years ago, I have yet to receive anything from them. In that regard, Bill Neumann, you're NO DOC EZLOVAN. But I still like BN's products.
