    Thought I would mow down the remains of yesterday’s single pass shave with a SE today

    Prep =Usual Prep using the last of my Proraso Blue Preshave
    Soap / Cream = Derby stick grated and pressed into a container
    Brush = Omega 49 (better for the harder soaps)
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Schick E Type
    Blade = inserted a new SE Personna SE injector PTF blade (1)
    Passes = Two passes, all WTG and some XTG, no ATG today because the whole shave felt rough and risky so I erred on the side of caution, leaving some stubble in the lower neck for next time
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum stung a bit on the lower chin, CWR, Thayers, Sterling Bar Rum
    Damage = minor scratch right chin but no bleeding

    Score = 8 /10 only, bit rough, some leftovers in the lower neck

    Comments = The Derby is good, similar scent to the Arko, but the scent is milder and really does not come through during the rest of the day like the Arko did the other day

    The SE was harsher than I remember, not as nice as the 37C and needed lots of care and very light pressure. The Derby lathered up nicely, but I could have used more water. I always find the lather for my 2nd and 3rd passes is more slick somehow

    At clean up time I realized the SE blade was not quite lined up evenly on the two retaining tabs, and was somewhat skew, hence the roughness to the shave, popped it back to line up nicely for next time
    We live and learn
    Still a good enough shave for the day’s outings.

    Have a glorious Tuesday one and all

    Edit: corrected the date

    Real good shave this morning, with my late opening of NEUMANN NOVEMBER. South of South Porcupine was the only problem. I couldn't get a good plan going at Cactus. Still working on that. I can't quite make a habit of going South to North all the way with the razor. I most certainly don't want to create ANOTHER ingrown area down there. I added more Bill Neumann than I usually do....the more the merrier with THAT skin food. 2 passes. Zero cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Nice shave set up Chris...Derby & Arko I find are thirsty soaps which can take lots of water. I actually prefer the scent of Derby to Arko, even though it's virtually the same. Performance wise, both provide a good lather either face or bowl lather. I like to face lather with a Boar brush when I use Arko or Derby too.

    Nice shave Chris. I have recently been in the habit of making sure my blades look even before I use the razor. 99% of the time, it's not necessary, but it's the 1% that can mar me for life. Seriously, the Schick Injector razors sometimes don't always load properly because the blade is askew in the magazine. I have had to pull the blade out and place it in the magazine to reload the blade. It can be a little frustrating to say the least.

    That would be nice. Although if you look at the abundance of acorns around that might suggest the opposite scenario.

    Thank you Joe.

    Razor: AA Gen Takahashi Tokusei
    Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T2 Sovereign Synthetic
    Lather: Santa Fe Soap Ranch Redwood Vetiver
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming/Chatillon Lux La Petite Prairie
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

    Another fantastic lather with the Santa Fe Soap Ranch shaving puck. My first experience with this artisan was in 2014, at a fair in Santa Fe, while attending my niece’s wedding. This is the second pick that I have acquired from them. The first was their Tobacco and Caramel offering. It is a hard soap that lasts a long time. I should use it more often.

    The Simpson Trafalgar synthetic whipped up a nice lather after loading the brush from the mug for about thirty seconds and bowl lathering with several additions of droplets of water.

    The AA Gen Takahashi Tokusei straight always delivers a close and comfortable shave. Three passes to super smoothness. Now I am ready for my day which includes an X3 Bar Pull workout, taking my son to an early Jiu Jitsu class and doing my civic duty by casting my vote.

    Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

    Nice sounding shave. I have not yet tried the Derby soap. I have had issues loading the injector at times. I have found that if the blade is askew i reinsert the key and either my finger nail or the top of a butter knife to straighten it out.

    Yes, I have heard about this nutty sign predicting the meteorological long-term and seasonal forecast. However, nature may go against its script. I hope so.
