    Very nice shave and post John. Personally, I get about 10 shaves from the injector blades and that's as far as I will go. Now, how a blade feels depends more on the geometry of the razor, than the heft of one. I can take a new Feather blade and put it in my R102 and take another new Feather blade and put it in my Gillette Heritage and the feel of the blade will be different in each razor because of their different geometries. In your case, the Schick E is more aggressive than your Supply 2 and that's why the first 2 shaves on the Schick feels more rough (aggressive) than it does on the Supply 2.

    thanks Joe, time to try my Silver Blues again at some stage.

    Thanks Barry.

    I found the scent of the Tabac in the tube somewhat different to the Tabac in the tub. Going forward I plan to use it up as a preshave application, that way I won't need to replenish my usual Proraso preshaves.

    I can't comment on the Scent of the Tabac tube as I've yet to try it. To my knowledge though I assume both where/are the same. It could be that the Tube you have is non-tallow which may give it the difference you notice in the scent. The important issue does the Tabac tube produce a good lather.? The answer to my question is probably yes. Your pre-shave plan sounds good, you could also try making an Uber/superlather mixture of both the tube & tub together which would/does make a superb lather. I've never went for the Proraso pre-shaves. My pre shave application consist of a good glycerine bar soap. Pears transparent bar soap ,Wrights coal tar bar soap, Simple Pure bar soap & Cien pure bar soap, are my main pre-shave choice. Both the Simple & Cien pure bar soaps are fragrance free and mild on the skin. Glycerine attracts & retains water and is a good moisturizer, softens the skin making it feel supple My favourite is the Pears transparent bar soap , but all make a good pre-shave. The Pears or the Simple Pure bar soaps will be good to start with. Give them a try, remember I'm fortunate to have a skin type that isn't super-sensitive, so it may not work with your skin type...You don't want your face to look like a baboon's arse!:angry019:. Yours-Barry.

    Thanks Barry, all good advice, and interesting input about the preshave. My already easily-enabled gene is bucking at the knees! Not sure which of those soaps I can find locally but will add them to my wishlist sometime down the track. The Tabac tube doesn't have the same density of scent as the tub, really good on its own right though. I guess applying this to face as a preshave and then lathering over it is uber-lather in its own right, overkill probably, but since I have it i thought it worth a try.

    Prep = Cold Water Prep and shave, using Tabac in a tube for preshave
    Soap / Cream = Derby stick pressed into a tub
    Brush = Omega 49
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Tech aluminium 30 grams
    Blade = Minora (1) heritage blade from my Mom-in-Law’s sewing box ~ 1950s -1970s? no country of origin on the box
    Passes = 3 + tu
    Post = Usual CXR. Alum. CWR. Thayers. Stirling Bay Rum
    Damage = None

    Score = 9/10. Overall good shave
    Comments = Slick lather. The blade was fine. Not top of the class, but doesn’t need to be, to get the job done. It felt like it lost some of its lustre towards the end of the shave. Binned. I have a few left in the tuck, I will have no qualms about using them up

    Good morning.

    Straight Razor Shave #505
    5/8 Böker King Cutter
    Semogue Super Badger Brush
    Pedro Fiasco Limoncello SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs

    20231109_210523.jpg

    I was in the mood for a citrus scent and Limoncello came calling. The scent is not overpowering, bit it is refreshing. The soap is slick and easy to lather. Here is my lather.

    20231110_095030.jpg

    As you can see, I purposely over-hydrated the lather to see how much water it could hold without the soap breaking. I have to say it performed well for me so I can't complain. My King Cutter needs to refreshed or honed because I needed to touch up in a few places after 3 passes. I just have to remember to do so when I want to use this razor again. Did get a chin weep so that's another clue that this razor needs to be sharpened.

    Still, I got a nice, comfortable shave so I really can't complain. The alum feedback was slight so I am pretty chill with it. Splashed on my witch hazel and the matching aftershave and I am good to go. Tomorrow, I will do a shavette shave using my Dovo and will be using Cella with the AV Ice Blue aftershave.I am choosing this setup because I am going to my nephew's house to help celebrate my brother's 75th birthday a little earlier than his exact date. I just don't need a strong scent to suffocate my people. Lol! Take care.

    Wonderful shave in the Southern den this morning. Hey Joe, @Trigger, awesome temperatures today with a high of around 86. :Animatedfrozensmily: not!

    Superb shave with this Genco straight. Easily could have been satisfied with a close and socially acceptable shave with just one pass. Of course I did my usual three passes. I just can not help myself.

    Hope you have an enjoyable day.

    Wonderful setup and shave Joe. I am glad you are enjoying the nice, subtropical climate. However, you will be back on Long Island facing temperatures that require you to wear heavy outerwear. So enjoy your temporary reprieve from chilly Temps. Lol!
