This Gillette Menthol tube has been sitting underneath my bathroom sink for so damned long and I’ve been ignoring it but this morning I decided to pull it out and give it a spin. If I’m not mistaken this stuff is from France. The cream still smells quite nice, it surprised me with great lather from just a small dab on both cheeks, the menthol sensation felt really cold, and the postshave feeling was comfortable - not quite as good as from Palmolive Menthol but still pretty good. The Prep and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave were a perfect finish. Three passes did the job for me - a terrific BBS shave that was so much fun!

The START Shaving Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #41 two-band badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1914 Gillette Pocket Edition and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Hendrick's Witch Hazel and then Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

SE SOTD, November 17th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC type with a Milano handle- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple clamping system for blade, small head parts make it a nimble razor to work the face and very enjoyable + affordable IMO. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline p 30 50mm (1) - sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavada - nice delightful mild scent of Lavender with a slight mint twist to my nose + excellent lather qualities. One of my favorites.
Brush : Yaqi "Purple haze" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavada with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar comfortable close shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm + a Yaqi Milano 316SSP handle with a Schick proline blade.

Lather: Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Proraso Blue Shaving Cream.
Razor: EJ DE89.'kelvin.' (Face) - Lord Silver Star. (D1)
Razor: Supply V2 (**) base plate. (Head) - Personna Injector PTFE. (D1)

Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & head Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse./Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Aloe Vera Gel./Brut Attraction Totale ASL.

New Shave set up to start the weekend...the Proraso Blue cream which I haven't used for a while created a nice creamy slick protective lather with only a small amount in a short space of time. The residual slickness from this cream is excellent leaving a superb post-shave from the addition of the aloe vera and vitamin E making my mature rhino skin feeling soft & moisturized. Ideal for the Autumn/Winter elements.

An enjoyable comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Brut Attraction Totale ASL.

My face & precious swede are both feeling smooth and smelling divine.
