I echo your sentiments in dealing with APShave, John. I have continued to buy knots from Andrew over the years, since that original LE brush in the spring of 2017. I haven’t turned anything in over a year, but do have a few of their latest synths ready for when I do decide to turn on the lathe again.

I took the Toggle to the old noggin this morning. It did a pretty nice job at a setting of 2. No nicks and very little alum feedback after 2 passes plus some touchups. Lather was just fine, using TOBS again in a bowl and taking a bit of time and adding water as the lather became thicker then after scalp lathering, added a few more waps with the tips dipped and had a fine slick and shiny lather to get the job done.

It was a little funny thinking that I was shaving with a razor that is almost 6 years older than I am as today is my 60th birthday and my Toggle is a D1 model. Come to think of it, my girlfriend is a D1 model as well and I like her just fine!

Nice to hear from you, Jason! Hope you're doing well. I still have and use the brushes you made or fixed for me.

When you do start turning again, if you ever decide to do those Limited Edition Georgian-style Shaving Stands for the 30DC ... :)

    Good afternoon.

    Gillette Heritage Razor
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (4)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

I wanted an easy shave so the Gillette Heritage got the call. I went with the Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender because it's a masculine scent and lathers wonderfully. The slickness is great too!! I haven't used this very flexible plastic bowl that cost under $1.00 to in quite some time. The evidence is clear that you don't need to spend $$$ to make a great lather. Granted, this bowl contorts and is unsteady while you lather, but it works. I am all for spending on top tier shaving items if you have the funds to do so, but it's not necessary to do so to get great shaves. We are in this hobby to try different things and we sometimes buy expensive stuff and that's part of the fun. However, I try to stay within my means, but I have been known to purchase top tier items like my 2 custom straights. Lol! Anyway, here's my lather:

The Heritage Razor gave me an error-free BBS shave on 3 passes without pickups.
The alum was silent. Finished with the witch hazel and the wonderful matching aftershave. Take care.

Are you talkinabout Don at WTF? From his descriptions of his two barbershop products, it appears(to me)that his Vintage BB is actually more nodern than his Modern BB.

    Shavette Shave # 212

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Parker SRX
    Blade: Perma-Sharp
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha

I am adjusting to the 3 hour time difference here in Vegas. I decided to travel with two scoops of the Brocha to accelerate the arrival of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I had a very nice three pass shave with the Parker SRX. The 200T easily whipped up a nice lather. My post shave was limited to just the aftershave as I neglected to pack the alum and balm. No worries, it was a great shave nonetheless.

Great shave and advice Joe. Performance is as much about smarts and experience as it is about spending $$$

I usually keep one high end soap and matching cologne around for special occasions when I want a more sophisticated scent. Day to day there is no need to be so fancy.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Nivea Men Power 24H Fresh Effect Shower Gel.

    Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face.
    Simple Pure Bar Soap.
    Brush: Omega 10066 Boar.
    Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: Proraso Sensitive Shaving Soap.
    Blade: Lord Silver Star. (D4)
    Razor: EJ DE89.'kelvin.'

    Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./The Real Shaving Co. SPF15 Anti-Ageing Moisturiser./ Dana English Leather ASL.

    Greetings,

A comfortable close shave to finish my shaving week off on a high note.

The Proraso Sensitive Soap provided me with slick protective lather for the shave leaving a equally good post shave feel....My only gripe with both the soap & cream is they leave a white residue on the razor surface after I have finished the shave...However, this could be because I live in a hard water area and the soap reacts with the high minerals in the water which has nothing to do the ingredients of the soap.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups silky smooth shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a generous splash of Dana English Leather ASL.

My face is feeling smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

Excellent shave and setup Gary. It's not the first time that I have read that a Proraso soap left white residue. I had Proraso Green and never had it happen to me. Enjoy your afternoon.

Thank you Joe. I don't have the residue problem with any of the other Proraso soaps or creams. It's not a major problem, it just takes a while to clean the razor after I have used it. Enjoy your day. You've had a memory slip :signs081: it's Barry, not Gary, not that Gary is a bad name. Believe me, I get called far worse from family and friends.:D Have a great day.
