-Friday-Work-Shave- schick rr bruce nivea deep good morning gents.. it's funny how the simplest things can give an effortless bbs just add practice and patience. have a great day everyone.
Nov 24 SOTM Good morning. Rockwell Model T v1 (5) Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (4) Heritage Collection C-Mon Replica Super HD Badger Van der Hagen Select SS Fine Accoutrements Platinum AS Stirling Alum Block Modessa Witch Hazel Beard Growth: 42.5 hrs I went with my Model T because I just wanted another quick shave this morning. I went with the VdH soap because the Heritage Collection performs better when loading in a mug for face lathering. Hence, there isn't a lather pic. Did 3 passes for a super smooth shave without any incidents. The alum was mostly silent. Finished the shave in the usual manner. Tomorrow, I will do a straight razor shave. It may be one of my cleavers or one of my Ralf Austs. Take care.
It is so true Gary. Of course, shaving wouldn't be as fun if we didn't splurge on some of the mid to upper shelf items. Enjoy your day.
I undeerstand there is a strong clove scent in Stoylin's Bay Rum. I'm not a clove freak. Is the scent well blended in with that of others? That'd make me feel better.
It’s somewhat clove forward going on, but blends back as it dries. Having said that, it’s such a YMMV thing that I hesitate to say definitively for you. The best blended scent on my opinion is the Barberry Coast Bay Rum, but it’s $40 per bottle. It’s also very healing on the face, which is why I spent that much, but the smell is true Bay Rum… The Clubman is also surprisingly good to my nose.
DE Shave # 490 - Fougere Friday Shave - Brocha Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: Yaqi Traveler Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (3) Brush: Ever Ready 200T Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Brocha Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Brocha Another clear but cool morning here in the high desert of Nevada. Following today’s shave there should be only one more Fougere Friday with this soap. The Edmund Fitzgerald is slated to arrive to pick up its newest member to the depths the week of December 4th. The Yagi “Travel” shave razor, given this name as the receipt when purchased did not identify the razor, delivered a close and comfortable shave. Again, I had another error free shave. Hope you all are enjoying your post Thanksgiving food coma. Have a great day gentlemen.
It's a cold and snowy day here. I had a good dinner at my little brother's home. I could go a while longer but, I just put clean flannel sheets on the bed and I will feel cleaner if I shave before bed. I really like how my face feels right after a good 3-pass shave. Setup for tonight: Chiseled Face "Ghost Town Barber" whipped with my Simpson "Commander" Badger brush in my Shave Nation ceramic bowl (pre-heated with HOT water) Proraso White pre-shave cream Parker 94R with a Treet "Dura Sharp" blade (second use and bin) Thayers Toner "Rose Petal" & Geo F Trumper "Skin Food" after-shave balm Pinaud "Classic Vanilla" after-shave
My favorite Bay Rum has been Stephan. Fine blend of all ingredients. Nice scent, good on the face and neck. Good price, too.....far less than Burberry. You're right, the Clubman BR won't be used by me. I love Clubman in general, but that one doesn't sound good.
Looks like you are taking good care of your face. It’s getting cold up here as well, and I have to start really watching both technique and what products I am using…
Have not tried the Stephan and it looks a bit hard to get a hold of. It looks like Pasteur has it. Might give it a try the next time I’m in NYC
I got my last one on line at WILLIAMSPORT BOWMAN BARBER SUPPLY.Course we all want to make the trip to Pasteur's someday, but you can order from them on line too(not sure they have Stephan, but worth a try.)
