1. Wow as little as that. A lot of common or garden stuff in there I guess.

So by your reckoning that's more than 400 US for a double ring or at least that is what someone was willing to pay for it.
I guess they could resell the rest at around 15 each on average and still be doing ok.
  2. These are great finds! I've always hoped I'd find one in an antique shop somewhere, but so far, no luck.
  3. I don't know what the great draw is to the Double Ring, other than the collectors aspect. I know collectors are always willing to pay top dollar for something rare, or limited in production.

  6. At this very moment, there are three different ones by one seller.
Those auctions end eleven hours from now.

They are in better shape than the one "hidden" in that lot,
    and expensive.
  7. Cool

    But not that $$$ cool

    Just saying

Nice finds though for anyone that interested

  8. I'm going to say "Pass". Not for the silly amount they will go for.

  9. I'm watching.
Curious to see what they *do* go for.
And, in case anyone is curious, I am not bidding.
  10. $899.98 on one!!
  11. $899.98
    $597.87
    $521.00

Two grand for three Gillette razors.
    Wow.

And there's another one with a crack that goes most of the way down the handle
    being sold by someone else.
That auction ends in 17 hours.
I don't expect a razor in that condition to go for very much.
  12. It will probably go for $200+, by someone looking to try and swap a single ring handle for the cracked one.

  14. Not there yet, but still climbing.
  15. $280.00
  16. Is the barrel of the handles on the double ring and single ring the same size?
  17. For a parts razor!
  18. Yes.
Also the 1920's old type ball handle
and every handle with the Nov 15 : 04 date,
including a prewar tech that I have.
  19. Then why not switch out a Single Ring handle, replate in silver, and viola an $800 razor?. I could see this happening.
  20. I've suspected that razors without cracks on those barrels
were made when something was out of spec.

There's something wrong with most of those handles.
Either the tubes are too narrow or the plugs are too wide

With a barrel split as badly as that one,
I wonder if the double ring part is wide enough to split any barrel.
