    That little italian waitress/cook went home to Italy for a month and when I saw her again, she announced that she is getting married in a year to some lucky Italian guy.

    Prep = Cold Water Prep and shave, Tabac in a tube as Pre shave
    Soap / Cream = Saponificio Varesino Felice aromatica Beta 4.3, only 1/2 a scoop needed
    Brush = Omega Boar
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Muhle R41 Grande
    Blade = Minora (1)
    Passes = 3 ++
    Post = Usual plus Old Spice
    Scent = L'instant Guerlain Pour Homme EdP
    Damage = none

    Score = 9+ /10
    Comments = Trying a heavier razor. The cap is of similar shape the 102 but thicker. The base plate is very thick. Supposed to be an OC but really a sort of hybrid. It still clogged up a bit with soap, but this is kind of a plus because it means there is still lather in there for buffing. Being heavier at 92 grams may or may not be a plus depending on technique. I found I don’t really need the extra length of the handle and am still holding the razor at the pivot point. It still need more strokes per pass than usual but ultimately resulted in a very smooth shave overall and even lower right neck (Nemesis Zone 8). Maybe I do just need more strokes per pass?

    The Minora did OK. Didn’t think I wanted to keep it for another outing: in the bin she goes

    Getting to the point where I can get good shaves with most DE razors and blades which is good thing.

    Smooth and all scented up for day ahead. Have a great Wednesday fellow shavers

    Great setup and shave Chris. Yes, after awhile, you get better shaves because you are more aware of how your beard grows and you shave it accordingly. Before I wetshaved, I would just take a cartridge razor and go around my face nilly willy.

    Here ya go then @Hogie

    06 Dec 2023 2 days no cleaning.jpg

    Because this vintage razor has a worn thread and I am using plumber's tape to be able to use it, I decided to leave it overnight for a second shave. Still rinsed it and cleaned the outside with the toothbrush though.

    After yesterday's shave (05 Dec 2nd day with the Feather) I left it overnight. Disassembled today to remove the blade.
    Note the corresponding brown marks on the blade where the OC teeth were in contact.

    Me no lik'em

    No idea what this would look after let's say a week in there with no proper cleaning

    It is quite funny because Joe C and I were discussing how you haven't mentioned the waitress at your Italian restaurant. I said that his waitress probably left for a better job or got a boyfriend. Well, attractive waitresses come and go.

    Fine job on the back 9 of Barbasol Original (Lovely Goo)and Russian Leather A.S.(from the TSD store). One pass. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I had to spend a little more time than usual at North Porcupine Alley(just under the nose), as I didn't yesterday. I ended up mking up for lost time :). But it might have to be a daily task-working a little extra up there. Well done everywhere else. Super Duper Outstanding.

    Good morning

    Straight Razor Shave #512
    7/8 J A Henckels Friodur
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    PAA K Rex Emporium SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 41 hrs

    I needed a sharp razor so I took out my Friodur for this morning’s shave. I picked out the K Rex Emporium SS because it is very slick. Here's my lather:

    I had an error-free 3 passer for a real close and smooth shave. The alum was silent. Did my usual postshave routine finishing with the Pinaud-Clubman aftershave. Take care.
