Far be it for me to make a suggestion, but "Tiny" Tim's Soap Busta Blend would be a apropos for the Christmas season in deference to Dickens famous holiday story.

I used the LaToja shave cream again today. It's a Spanish product made using the sulfur spring water from the ancient LaToja spa. Good stuff and a very old traditional shave product in Spain. And discontinued earlier this year by the European conglomerate that now owns the brand.

The Omega S-Brush is an older synthetic brush, one of the first I ever got. To my surprise, I see it is still sold. I am not sure why -- maybe it has a newer (and better) version of synthetic bristles now?

My Supply 2.0 injector is a now-discontinued model made out of now-unavailable stainless steel with three interchangeable base plates of varying aggressiveness. Supply has replaced it with two models: the SE fitted with their "nick-proof fins" on a single comb plate, and the Pro with a truly adjustable shave setting controlled by a dial. Both the SE and Pro only come in chrome-plated zinc alloy -- stainless steel is no longer an option. I bought a separate SE comb plate for my 2.0 and that is the plate I invariably use now.

The injector blade I am using was made in the US, which Schick hasn't done for about 20 years now. An excellent product and better than most of the modern injector blades - very sharp, very smooth and with superb durability.

The Lucky Tiger is still made but mine is down to the last 1/2" in the bottom of the bottle.

The shave was good. Two error-free passes to a near BBS. First pass WTG, and second XTG on the face and ATG on the neck. No nicks or blood spots and silent alum. The orange-scented Lucky Tiger works well to soothe any burn anywhere and to leave my skin nicely moisturized without feeling greasy.

Happy Hump Day everyone - the work week is all downhill from here!

    Thank you both!

I don't know the details, Gary, but I think the discontinuance of LaToja shave cream was more a case of a Germany-based conglomerate cutting "non-core" operations.

Yes. I hear they're talking about developing these high-tech electrificated gadgets to do the shaving for you with self-moving blades. No need for soap, water, brushes, continually changing out blades in razors or all that other messy stuff -- just plug in the cord and away you go! Aren't modern gadgets wonderful? :eatdrink047::p

No more willy nilly then. I generally follow the same route around the beard, but with minor improvisations along the way, not premeditated, just sort of happens that way

That is a way cute R41 handle Joe.

Thanks Joe. Pretty happy with where I am, pretty much dialled in. There is just one DE razor that I have that I tried in the beginning of my 1 year wet shaving travels. It didn't like me very much, so I relegated it to the back of the den. Might have to give it a bit of a thrashing soon and see how we go.

The handle on the R41 is not from Muhle. I wanted a heavier handle so I pick up one from Maggards. I believe it is the heaviest handle they offer.

I have used it periodically over the past few years. The soap lathers extremely well and has a very nice scent to it.

I never tried that soap. I suggested it because I was trying to make a tongue-in-cheek statement by placing "Tiny" in front of Tim from the label so that it ties with Dickens' Christmas Carol. Therefore, making it a faux Christmas themed soap.
