If the above picture looks familiar, you are correct. In order to give a good and fair 4th shave test to the Kai blade, I kept everything else the same.

However, this time I did face lather the Vesuvio Noir. It required a bit more water and time than an easy face lathering soap like Stirling would, but the end result was very nice.




The shave was terrific. DFS all around for the most part. I only gave it 4.5 stars because the Kai blade finally started to drop off a bit, and there was not as much in the way of BBS. The interesting thing about this blade, is that it stayed comfortable and tug/irritation free even when the sharpness dropped. Possibly due to the quality of the grind and/or coating on this brand. That is very unusual for me, and makes this a good travel option. I’m binning this blade and moving on, but I feel like I could probably squeeze a fifth passable shave out it if I had to.

48 hours early morning pre work shave.



Prep = Cold water soak 3x 30 secs
Preshave = Tabac cream in a tube
Cream = Tabac cream in a tube, bowl lathered
Brush = The Vulfix
Bowl = Timeless
Razor = Gillette Popular
Blade = Feather (1)
Passes = 3 +
Technique = Starting to use more strokes per pass esp in the tricky areas, ATG top lip and lower lip for a super smooth result, seems to work wonders, did the back of the neck too
Post = CWR, Alum CWR, Thayers
ASL = Old spice
Scent = Guerlain L’instant pour homme
Damage = none

Score = 9.5 / 10
Comments = super smooth all set for the day at work.

The Feather never felt threatening in any way in this lovely razor. Can see why they marketed it as “Popular”

Let's see, where's my Just Like Yesterday rubber stamp? No real differences to report. Course there is ONE.....that is, I COULD SEE MYSELF SHAVING. It's much nicer that wayyyy-(HAAAAH-long lung breath). That supid gizomo on my light switch has a mind of its oen. Anyway, back to the shavw. I might have used a little more Clubman than was needed-face and neck got very tingly. Super Duper Outstanding.
