It's shavette time today and so my favorite Dovo was up in the batter's box. I switched from a still sharp Hairshaper to a fresh 1/2 DE blade. Cella SS also was in the game as well. I can't believe that I am near the bottom of this tub, but I probably will have at least 50 to 75 shaves because I don't need much soap to make a rich, creamy lather. Here's my lather:



I only needed to do a 2 pass shave because I have a fresh blade and I had an extremely close shave, yesterday. I got a very, close comfortable shave without any blood loss. I would call this a near to low BBS result. I don't like to push things with a fresh blade if I don't have to do so. This shavette is very light so the tendency is to put pressure on it and that's what will cause problems for the inexperienced open blade shaver. In this case, a very light touch is very important. This was my very first open blade razor and it helped me with my technique so that going to traditional straights was a cakewalk for me.
Anyway, the alum feedback was slight in my neck so I am very pleased because I used a new blade. Splashed the alum and the FA Platinum aftershave to end this session. Take care.

 

Excellent Shave to start the weekend Joe! The Wilkinson Sword blades are next up on my DEcember list. Right after the Lab Blues. I’m excited to try them….

 

Thanks Scott. They are not as sharp as the Feathers and Kai blades, but they do provide a smooth feel during the shave. I am very satisfied with these blades, but as you know, it's a ymmv thing.

Travel day shave, therefore, I broke my norm of 3 passes. I opted for 2 pass. The result with the Dovo/Persona Hair Shaper blade delivered an extremely close shave. As Joe, @Trigger, has expressed on numerous occasions, these blade are sharp!

Finally had time to post this shave after 12.5 hours, (768) miles of driving. Just in time for another 500+ tomorrow.

Fantastic shave on your maiden voyage with the Personna Hairshaper Blade Joe! Your 1000+ open blade experience certainly benefited you. Those blades are not for the newbie to say the least.
