Looks awesome Gary. You have so many things that I’ve never used before. Literally, the Thayers is the only thing in that entire pic that I have tried.

They are fast. I placed an order last night. It already shipped and will be arriving Friday.

If you could do it all over, would you still have picked the 45th Parallel or ordered more Cella?

Tbh, I liked the Cella, but it lost its scent after about 2 months so I wasn't thrilled because I am a scent guy. Now, it maybe because I bloomed the soap and then loaded the wet brush from a wet soap to facelather. Even though I let the puck upside down, I believe some of the water went in between the sidewall of the tub and the soap causing it to lose the scent. This was the reason why I decided to owl lather so that the soap would always be dry and therefore it would not be degraded and keep the scent longer. Also, leaving the puck open for hrs to dry will also make the scent lose its strength. I won't be able to answer your question about 45 parallel until I lather it for tomorrow to see how the scent truly smells. Also, I am getting the cream probably Sat and the scent might be stronger. The aftershave does smell nice, but I haven't applied it on my skin so it may be different.

    BTW, what did you order?

    Greetings,

Last early morning shave and working shift of 2023 before I break up for the Christmas holidays until the 9th January 2024!... I've only taken a small amount of my holidays this year so, I'll be away from the mill until January 8th 2024 enjoying festivity relaxation, & spending time with family and friends...'Bring it on'!!!!

An enjoyable Turkish themed close shave to finish the my shaving week off wonderfully.

Derby & Arko are becoming my go to soap choices for my head/dome shaves. The performance slickness, protection & post shave feel that both of these humble soaps provide is excellent.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling cool smooth, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

That has been my experience with Cella as well. Great performance, but weak scent.

I have been looking for a juniper, woodsy scent with maybe a bit of Gin and tonic, and was disappointed that Captains choice discontinued the North soap. Pasteurs had a Caties Bubbles soap called Pine Barrens that looks like a great substitute, and I have never tried the CB brand. Seemed like a good way to “kill two birds with one stone”. I added a bottle of Pinuad Gin and Tonic to pair with it.

I will be shaving with both Sunday and will post my impressions.

Prep- Hot shower, Stirling Executive Man Soap
    Razor: 1967 Gillette Super Speed
Blade- Personna Lab Blue, third shave on blade
Two Pass Shave- One WTG, one XTG/ATG
Brush: Omega 10049 Pure Bristle Boar
Lather: TOBS Lime Zest Shaving Cream
    Aftershave: Lucky Tiger
Post: Royall Lyme all purpose AS and cologne
    Soundtrack- Yes 90125

Some new things in the den today. I ordered a 100 blade pack of the Lab Blues. It was a no brainer at this point.

Also broke out some lime for a really nice shave today. The Royall Lime is heavenly. I sampled it on my Bermuda cruise and had to grab a bottle. The TOBS lime scent is very light, but it becomes a non issue when I have the Royall to pair it with. As always, the TOBS performance is off the charts.

Third shave with the Lab Blues and almost zero drop off in performance. Another two pass BBS/DFS shave with little effort and no drama.

I’m going to explore the longevity of these blades at a later date. Sticking with my focus and switching to Wilkinson Swords this weekend.

    Final standings, round two:

    1- Personna Lab Blue
    2- Feather
    3- Kai
    4- Gillette Silver/Blue
    Up next- Wilkinson Sword

    Have a great day everyone!

Thank you Scott. The Brush was a Holiday gift from Turkey.. Lider/Jaguar Boar shaving brushes are great for face lathering ..By the way my name is Barry, not that Chris is a bad name or anything. Believe me when I say I've been called worse than Chris in the past believe me especially by family & friend's. I have a memory like a goldfish, I'm terrible remembering names, but great with faces. Have a great day Peter, or should I say Scott.:D

lol. I know Barry. Sometimes I mix up the names when quoting. Probably shouldn’t do it this early in the morning! I just corrected it.

    Sincerely,
    Peter

No problem Scott...If only mixing up names was the worse thing in the world, then the world would be a better place to live in. Take care.:happy088:

My Throwback Thursday shave was fine. We can call it a "Throwback Thursday/Barbershop Shave" actually, as I topped off Barbasol with a Bay Rum A.S. The thing I have to keep saying about this Bay Rum is that it's a nice facial cleanser. It may also help me to realize that Bay Rums of the 1930's will have clove scents so I might as well get used to it. (Just tossin' out some PT logic here). One pass. No cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. I skimmed over the area of Cactus Nation that has the ingrown hairs-must do better down there tomorrow. Most Outstanding.

    Shavette Shave # 216

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: The Holy Black
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Aftershave: PAA Boomtown Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Another excellent Shavette shave this morning. An easy three passes to super smoothness. The Jayaruh boar whipped up a wonderful PAA lather. That being said, I get a wonderful lather with any of my PAA soap no matter which type of brush I use.

I do enjoy the scent of this bay rum. The scent profile is as follows: “ Gun Smoke, Leather & West Indian Bay Rum.”

Hope you have a great day gentlemen.

That scent sounds like a winner for sure! Combing essence of cowboy and pirate into one aftershave....
