Thanks Joe. I was pleased with it. The next time, I will use less water to see if the lather becomes a little thicker. Either way, it's a good product.

Today Sunday is a no shave stay at home day, the plan is to test the Muhle blade again on its second outing with 2 days growth tomorrow. I have a selection of blades I haven't tried yet or didn't like previously and need to get through these to see if they are worth ordering more of. Need to use up at least some of my stuff before more arrives!

Lol, yep, my face needs a rest. My best shaves are at 48 hours or so, so that will be a good test for Day 2 of the Muhle blade

I often wonder the same thing about the head shavers...not all shave the dome daily, but wait a day or 2 or 3, the question arose in my mind a few days ago as to the reason why....?

Maybe one day when I join that elite brigade I will figure it out!

Atm the hair on my head is still ok-ish and quite manageable. I have a stubborn scab on the top of my that has been there for a month after I trashed it against the car tailgate, quite annoying how things take longer to hurry up and heal once you get over the hill a bit

Saturday December 16 - DE & Defunct December

Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo 20% laurel bay oil soap

Razor: Rockwell T2 on dial setting "2" / Rockwell (2)

    Soap: JM Fraser's Shave Cream

Brush: Jason's 30DC LE with APShaveCo 24mm cashmere synthetic

    Lather Bowl: none

Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Lucky Tiger After Shave and Face Tonic

Last shave: Sunday - 6 days

    IMG_20231210_163301_kindlephoto-23181646.jpg

The JM Fraser's Shave Cream is now more like a croap than a cream, although I don't remember it being very runny even when completely fresh. Since it has been discontinued for three years, I will never be able to get a fresh jar to double-check that. Anyway, it still loads and face lathers easily and still has its light lemony scent. No problem lathering for two passes with enough squeezed out of the brush during cleanup to have done a third.

In keeping with my newly declared DE Focus on wringing out the paces of my new Rockwell T2, my setup today was identical to last shave and will remain so for the rest of the month. The only difference was I moved the razor dial up from "1" to " 2" .

Since I have used mainly injectors for a couple years, I started my T2 shave by slowly and deliberately "riding the cap". I first set the cap on my face and then lowered the handle to blade contact. Once I was reminded of the proper angle for this DE razor, I was then able to maintain it throughout the shave.

I noticed little real difference between "1" and " 2" on the dial. Probably not surprising as I routinely shave on setting "4" on my vintage Gillette adjustables.

I did two passes - the first WTG everywhere and the second XTG on the face and ATG on the neck. No issues at all. Alum silent. DFS.

Next shave, I will move up to "3".

Hope the weekend is treating everyone well.

    Greetings,

    A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

Recently I've been revisiting various assortments that I haven't gave much attention to the Erasmic lather shave cream is just one of many shave creams that I've infrequently used in the past. The lather that this inexpensive cream provides is well above it's price bracket.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups close shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.

Prep- Hot shower, Stirling Executive Man Soap
    Razor: 1967 Gillette Super Speed
Blade- Wilkinson Sword, first shave on blade
Two Pass Shave- One WTG, one XTG/ATG
Brush: Omega 10049 Pure Bristle Boar
    Lather: Caties Bubbles- Pine Barrens
    Aftershave: Pinuad Gents Gin
Post: Quinns Grapefruit Witch Hazel, Alum block
    Soundtrack- Beatles, Abbey Road

Serviceable but just OK shave today.

The Wilkinson Sword blade is “very” smooth, but just at the edge of sharp enough for me. My beard is tough and stays parallel to my face, so tugging is a constant issue if I don’t have the right blade. To the credit of the WS blade, I did not have a problem with this, but the shave was not as super close as I’m used to. I’m going to shave with it at least one more time with a soap I’m more used to before issuing a final verdict. This blade is likely really good for head shavers and manscaping duties. Also probably an excellent choice for those who don’t require top sharpness.

The Caties Bubbles soap was just OK. Similar to Stirling but a notch or two below it in performance and scent. The Pine Barrens lists Juniper first, but all I got was a heavy pine scent. Similar to Stirling Coniferous. It definitely needed the Pinuad Gents Gin to warm it up some. Speaking of Stirling, this soap would also pair well with Stirling Christmas Eve AS, and I have some of that laying around I think. As with the blade, I will give this soap another try or two to see if it grows on me.

    Current standings, round three:

    1- Personna Lab Blue
    2- Feather
    3- Kai
    4- Gillette Silver/Blue
    5- Wilkinson Sword

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

I headshave every 2 to 3 days because my stubble is equivalent to my 24 hr face scruff.

Also, it more socially acceptable to let the dome turf grow than it is the face so one can get away from headshaving every day.

    Awesome shave and review Scott.
I agree that the Wilkinson Sword blades are smooth, but my beard is not as tough as yours so I can get away from using Feathers, etc. However, I do like very sharp blades.
Now, your blades don't have the Gillette brand. I have both and I can assure you that the Wilkinson Sword blade is a little sharper than the unbranded ones. Although, if you do try the Gillette Wilkinson Sword blades, you may not notice a difference because of your beard.[/QUOTE]

DE Shave # 499 - Sample Soap Sunday - The Drunken Goat
    DEcember Shave 8 of 15

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Merkur HD 39c “The Slegehammer”
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft “Beehive” 28mm
Pre-Shave: Pears Soap - Mint Extract
    Lather: MLS The Drunken Goat
    Aftershave: Cella Milano
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original
    Nivea Sensitive Balm

Wonderful 39c shave this morning. I have begun to get more comfortable with the longer and heavier handle. Finding the correct angle has not been an issues as it’s brother the 37c has been delivering exceptional shaves for almost 30 years.

The RR brush whipped up a very nice MLS lather. I will be sad to see this sample soap go.
Three passes to super smoothness with a nice finish by the Cella Milano splash.

Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Awesome shave John. I am assuming your beard is light because you shave almost once a week. If that is the case, then I don’t see you having a problem with setting 3.
