    Good afternoon

    Rolls Razor
    Rolls Blade
    Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush
Seaforth Sea Spice Lime SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

This afternoon, I decided to shave with my Rolls Razor. It is the second time that I have used it since I won it at the Pasteur's Pharmacy Octobershave meetup.
I also went with the Seaforth Spice Lime set because it's has a nice scent, lathers easily and it's slick. Also, I bought it at the meetup so I figured there's a nice connection with this razor and soap. Here's my lather:

I have to say that I got better results this time then my inaugural shave with this razor. I am not saying the first shave was bad, but just that this shave was much better.
I did a 3 pass shave plus minor pickups for an in between DFS and a near BBS shave without any incidents. I don't think this razor with its proprietary blade would be able to shave my 2 day stubble effectively, so I will only use it for 1 day growth. Personally, it's a novelty razor and I am fine with it. However, if I am going out to an affair, than shaving with a straight or a shavette would be my top choice.
I did get some alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and matching aftershave to finish this shave. Take care

Thanks Scott. Rolls Razors have a self strop and hone mechanism. The razor is encased in a metal box that has a separate door that opens on each side to get to the leather strop or the honing stone. The blade is on a rolling mechanism that allows you to roll back and forth to hone the blade or strop the blade depending on which door you open. These razors are commonplace, but very few like mine have everything that are in very good to mint condition. I was told by Leon T. of Pasteur's Pharmacy that this particular razor was owned by a deceased celebrity. I don't doubt it because of the condition of this razor.

Unobtanium = unaffordium, same thing really, I saw a tuck y'day for 64 USD plus shipping to Oz. Cheaper to just stock up on Feathers or Russian Gillettes

    24 hours

Same HW and SW as yesterday the 18th with one change, The Blade

(I found another tuck of the Muhle Razurkultur and am happy to keep that for another day)

This morning I also found a loose Merkur Super Stainless Platinum that would have come as a freebie with one of my razors and gave that a go today

The shave was hard work even with the same hardware, software and technique. It almost felt like I would need 4 passes but resisted the urge. Draggy. Needing more strokes per square inch of skin. Interesting to note I made the same comment about it last year “dull and rough.” Nevertheless today I still managed a good shave, which is smooth with no damage. The blade seemed more suited to the softer hair at the back of my neck. Made in Czech. Bit like the Skoda, VW engine all-right but Czech bits and pieces clipped on elsewhere. My wife had a Skoda Fabia a while back, maybe we just got a dud who knows

My impulse is to bin this blade but to be fair to it, I should give it another go, it may smoothen (smoothen?) out a bit. I may try it on a 48 hour bit of scruff. Or I may go back to back with the same HW and SW but with a Feather next at 24 hours. I will decide tomorrow

If can eliminate the blades I don’t like I can reduce my inventory of those and stick with the ones that suit me

Terrific Tuesday to one and all

Nice shave Chris. My Dovo shavette came with Merkur blades and didn't have a problem with them. They were not supersharp, but did the job. However, I wouldn't purchase them. There are too many choices that are so much better for me.

    SRS # 1011

    Rating: 4 / 5

    Razor: Union Cutlery Banty 9/16”
Brush: Jayaruh 382 “Civil War” Boar
Lather: Old Cahaba Shave Club Camp Cahaba
Aftershave: Old Cahaba Shave Club Camp Cahaba
    Additional Care:
    Maggards Alum
    Nivea Sensitive Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

The Union Cutlery straight delivered a close and smooth shave minus a weeper on the left upper lip.

The Jayaruh boar brush whipped up a nice lather. Unfortunately, once the lather was applied to the face it began to dissipate. This is the second time this issue has occurred in the Southern den with this soap. I did not have an issue up north. Therefore, my hypothesis is that the hardness or lack thereof of the water is the culprit here. Perhaps I will bring it back up north with me to test this theory out.

I spent another afternoon ride my bicycle with my friend from high school. We covered 21 + miles today. Not bad for this old geezer. X3Bsr and bicycle = Beastmode.

Hope you all have had a great day gentlemen.
