Outstanding final straight shave of the year - my 200th. The remaining two shaves for the year will be with a Shavette and a DE.

The CRD synthetic brush whipped up a nice Proraso lather. Three passes with the Genco straight, which is a phenomenal razor, took care of the days growth. On top of that, the shave received the SOA from the missus.

Tomorrow’s shave will be a travel day shave as we are heading to Sunrise, Florida to view the NY Rangers vs Florida Panthers. We will be back in the Southern den tomorrow afternoon.

Did a 4 pass shave because I had to change out a blade after 3 passes. The original blade didn't give me the result I wanted. I should have replaced it after 2 passes, but I figured that my final ATG pass would clear my stubble. Obviously, it didn't so that's why I did a 4th pass with a new blade. I did get a BBS shavve, but got a weep on the final pass on the chin. Swiped it with my wet fingers and it was gone without the assistance of the alum.
I facelathered because I just wanted to change the routine and got a nice lather. Unfortunately, I neglected to take a picture of the setup because I was so into starting the shave. The alum sang a little bit, but it wasn't drastic. Finished the shave in my usual way. Take care.

Just want to start by saying hi and Happy Holiday’s to everyone! I’ve been on a mini whirlwind of travel and family stuff which is why I have not posted a shave in a week or so. I’m going to wrap up my December focus by squeezing one more blade in for testing.

Tried a Wizamet today because I think I tried one years ago and enjoyed it. If I remember correctly they used to be branded as Polsilvers. Assuming it’s the same blade. Went all Stirling as I’m still not quite wound down from the travel. Just wanted something that works and smells great.

Really nice shave with this blade. About as sharp but maybe a touch less smooth first shave than a GSB. All BBS where it should be and easy two pass DFS everywhere else. I have to shave one more time with it and also see if there is a cost difference between the two. I have close to 100 GSB’s on hand and with all of this blade testing, have not been using them. It remains to be seen if the Wizamets find a place in my Den, but I’m impressed so far.

One more shave with this blade over the weekend, and then I’m going to be testing new razors in January.
