    Tabac Thursday

    04 Jan 2024.jpg

    24 hours

    Prep = Cold Water Soak to the face 30s x 3
    Preshave = none
    Cream = Tabac in a tube
    Brush = Razorock Plissoft
    (Bowl = None) face lathering
    Razor = Gillette Red Tip
    Blade = Kai (1)
    Passes = 3 passes with buffing and touch ups within each pass
    Post = CWR, leftover lather to face, CWR, Alum was alive, CWR, Tabac ASL
    Scent = Guerlain Pour Homme EdP
    Damage = Felt a nick right cheek but never saw anything, so this counts as no damage

    Score = 9 ish/ 10
    Comments = Careful attention to the cap, the blade did the rest. Crisp audible feedback from the Kai. I won’t describe this as a smooth shave since the Kai was a fresh blade, but the results were good. Didn’t feel the need to do any ATG today
  3. I believe so. We were camping out there at the time and wound up dragging that plant around with us for a week…

  5. Thanks Scott. Unfortunately, Angora Soaps went out of business. It's a shame because the lather is creamy and slick. This is my only puck left from the artisan.

    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Prep: Warm shower:/Imperial Leather Bergamot & Sea Salt Energising Body Wash.

    Pre:
    Cold wet flannel to my face.
    Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Yaqi 24mm Naples Tuxedo Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
    Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream.
    Blade: Treet Platinum. (D2.)
    Razor: Parker 87R.

    Post:
    Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./Floid Mentolado Vigoroso ASL./Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

    Greetings,

    I haven't used the Nivea Men Sensitive Pro Ultra-Calming Liquid Shaving Cream which always provides a slick protective lather. It's gooey sloppy mess appearance on my first use left something to the imagination which put me in doubt about it. However, once I started to add a few drops of water to the gooey mixture it exploded and became slick rich and protective with no drying out issues and superb post shave feel... It doesn't have much of a scent so It doesn't conflict with any post shave scent applications.

    A wonderful effortless 2 pass +pickups close comfortable shave with the Parker 87R to finish my first week of 2024 superbly.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Men Sensitive ASB.

    My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

  9. Nice quick report, thanks for chiming in even though you are time pressured.
    Wonder what the Kai will feel like in the Henson.
    They have a more aggressive Henson too, both around AUD 140 down here.

    It was thanks Joe

    Thanks Joe

    I had a really nice shave today. The Henson razor has been just as advertised, and continues to deliver easy shaves. Another added bonus is it seems to extend the useful life of blades. I don’t normally get 4 shaves out of a Feather. All BBS/DFS again

    I also received my new brush. It’s the first (and probably last) expensive one I am going to buy. However, I understand why this knot is so popular. It’s an almost perfect mix of backbone and softness right out of the box.

    On to a different razor tomorrow. Enjoy the day gentlemen!

    Consecutive days shaving- 5
    Current skin issues or irritation- None so far

    Razor: JR Torrey Celebrated Hollow Ground
    Brush: Leo Frilot ECWS 2018 Ghost Trails
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
    Lather: Stirling Pharaoh's Dreamsicle
    Aftershave: Stirling Pharaoh Dreamsicle
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Stirling Pharaohs Dreamsicle EdT

    Note to self: Use the Pharaoh Dreamsicle more often in 2024. His is such a nice citrusy scent which always meets the approval of the missus.

    No need to elaborate on the quality of the Stirling Soaps. We in the 30DC are well aware.

    Three passes with the JR Torrey straight has left my face super smooth. No issues to report. I am looking and smelling great.

    Now I am off to get an oil change for one of my vehicles and following it up with taking my mother shopping.

    Hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
