Love the shave and the Stirling mood seems to be in the air today!

    Thank you Joe!

I also have one midrange badger and 3 boars, one of which is on its last legs. Once I get my big Omega boar broken in, it and the Muhle will probably be my two "go to" brushes. I never really got hooked on the multiple brush thing. It's good scents and soaps that I tend to spend too much on...

The Stirling Black cherry is really nice. The exact same performance as the Bay Rum with a different scent. The smell does not last as long, but fruit scents never do...

The Henson does come in a medium, but a lot of the reviewers preferred the mild, so I went with that. The knock on the medium seemed to be "no more efficient, but harsher" which for me kind of wiped out the whole point of buying one...

Great shave today. Just one small(and I do mean SMALL)glitch kept me from a top-rank, a small miss at the usual place(right side just above the jawline, below right ear). Doc Ezlovan did a fine job in making sure we smell exactly what we shave with in his Agar soap. You open the liid, and you're in a forest with Agarwood all around And what a combination it is with AGADIR MEN aftershave! 2 passes. No cuts, Knicks, polka-dots. Actually, another glitch-I should have done better across the jawline. I'll work on those two issues tomorrow. Super Duper Outstanding.

Is it(the smell)like that of pipe smoke, as I was suggesting the other day?

No- Straight up Black Cherry Pie, but not quite as sweet. If you remember the smell when you cracked open one of the old school Hostess Cherry Pies, you would be very close

The Barberry Coast Vesuvio Noir might be for you, but pricier than the Stirling. I get cherry, leather and smoke from the VN. Definitely a more complicated scent, where the Stirling is very straightforward ....

I might have had a Hostess Black Cherry as a little boy, but too far back to recall.

    Good afternoon.

    Straight Razor Shave #516
    6/8 Ralf Aust
    MrEE Tuxedo Brush
    PAA King R Emporium SS
    Fine Accoutrements Platinum AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs

I went with the Ralf Aust with the cocobolo scales and the PAA King R Emporium soap.
It is a great combination to have for a nice, comfortable and smooth shave. The soap makes a great, slick lather. Here's my lather:

Three passes gave me an error-free and super close shave. Alum feedback was there, but it was tolerable. Splashed on the witch hazel and the FA Platinum aftershave. Take care.
