    Thanks Joe. It was in my last Pasteur's order with the Captain's Choice 45th Parallel set. I used Barbus Sports Shave Cream last month. In fact, the exact date that I posted it was December 16 and you hit the like button. Lol!

    Shaving Recipe for today.

    Prep: Warm shower:/Imperial Leather Lavender & Wild Iris Body Wash.

    Pre:
    Cold wet flannel to my face.
    Cien PURE Fragrance Free Sensitive Bar Soap.
    Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
    Bowl Lather.
    Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
    Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap (No.1) with Cedarwood & Patchouli essential oils
    Blade: Super Shave X Platinum. (D2)
    Razor: Baili BD 191.
    Post:
    Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./ Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Milton Lloyd Essentials No.15 EdP.

    Greetings,

    The Baili BD 191 "Tech Clone" I originally bought to build a introduction starter kit for a workmate who was curious to try out traditional wet shaving, but like a lot of people he expected too much too soon and reverted back to using disposable/cartridge razors again....So he returned the Baili BD 191 razor to me along with a few other shaving items thanking me, saying it wasn't for him...Each to their own choice.

    My only minor criticism with the Baili BD191 is the handle is slippery when wet, but I rub my fingertips with a alum block which give a better grip when shaving with it.

    Like the Baili BD177 Rose Gold TTO & Kanzy K100 razors, the Baili BD 191 has a "closed head design" which gives extra protection and no risk of catching my ear lobes or under my nose with the blade ends when shaving, which is something I like very much about all three razors.

    The long hefty teardrop handle makes the razor 'bottom heavy' which for my personal preference is a bonus for me as the weight of the razor does all the work with no pressure needed to be added when shaving...A very good razor apart from the slippery handle.

    An acceptable close 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd Essentials No. 15 EdP to the pulse points.

    My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe and enjoy your Sunday ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    24 hours fine Sunday shave

    07 Jan 2024 SOD.jpg

    Prep = "Cold" / luke warm water Prep and shave, Tabac in a tube as Pre shave
    Soap = Stirling Bay Rum sample, first time use
    Brush = Pura Setola bristle 11137
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Slim I-4 1963
    Blade = Shark Super Chrome (2)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = CWR, Alum, Thayers. No AS splash, let’s see if the Bay Rum soap is enough on its own
    Damage = None

    Score = 9.5 + / 10
    Comments = Super shave with the I4 Slim. Nice weight, nice cap design, inspires confidence. Used #3 for the first 2 passes, and down to #2 for the buffing of the tricky areas to avoid too much skin damage. Very happy with this combo. The Shark felt fine on day 2, I might even take it to day 3
    Stirling soap performance was solid and predictable, the scent was subtle while shaving and very enjoyable. My wife did not like the cloves scent straight from the puck (but I do!) and this did subside post shave, so this is a win-win situation!

    Enjoy your Sunday and to quote @Ron R have some great shaves

    Super Stirling Sunday Shave Chris. I have used Stirling Bay Rum and the scent was very strong. It stayed with me throughout the day. I can see how some people would be turned of by it because it does have a medicine-like fragrance. I liked it, but needed to use it sparingly because of its scent strength. I have done samples and found some were not powerful in their scents. Maybe that's the same with your Bay Rum sample.

    Thank you Joe. It’s still the cheap travel razor I’m testing. It’s a 2023 and supposedly a copy of the 70’s era Techs. That feels about right other than the weight. Alloy head plus plastic handle makes it practically weightless…

    Excellent Bay Rum shave Chris. I usually do not like the clove scent through I tried the Stirling Bay Rum bath soap a while back and liked the scent. Go figure.

    Fine shave overall this morning. I was saddened to learn that Grooming Dept.(the maker of the soap)uses animal products(Duck Fat, Donkey Milk)in their ingredients. Aaah, it works well on the face and neck, and has a nice smell(the one I used-LUXURY), which is important for any shaver. Actually "Goat milk" is supposed to work to cut back effects of againg on the skin for senior citizens.. I like THAT. Anyway, two glitches on Cactus Nation(neck)prevented me from going all the way on the rating. Painless Knicks in each case. 2 passes. Stoylin Unscented A.S. is a good follow-up for this soap, as LUXURY is nice and strong to the nose-I think of being out in the Wild West with it. For that matter, Clubman Special Reserve might work, too. Clean and clear everywhere else. Most Outstanding,
