    Good afternoon.

    Schick I-1 Injector
    Ted Pella Blade (6,7)
    JR #290 Cashmere Brush
    Tabac SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs
    Dome Turf: 3 days

    20240112_155039.jpg

    Did a 3 pass head and face shave. The dome and face are super smooth without any boo-boos. Tabac provided a super slick lather. It never disappoints me.
    I am going out to a no fragrance venue so that's why I chose the software for this shave because the scents from these shave products don't last long.

    I got very little feedback from the alum. Finished this session in the usual manner. I am quite pleased with this shave. Take care.

    Looks really nice Joe! Im allergic to tobacco, which is a shame because I hear nothing but praise for Tabac products….

    Thanks Scott.. I understand. I guess you were tested for it. I am not a doctor, but allergic reactions sometimes depends on the concentration of the allergen as to how severe a reaction one gets. Now, if you go into anaphylaxis, then obviously it would be a no go. Also, the source needs to be considered as well. There are some soaps that use the tobacco flower which is a sweeter frag then the typical leaf version and may not cause any reaction. You know what's best for you. As an aside, my brother is allergic to chocolate. If he ingests chocolate, then his lips enlarge and has trouble breathing. The rest of us are fine with eating chocolate. Allergies can be paradoxical. Go figure.

    Hi Joe,

    Thank you for the suggestions. I was diagnosed with this and several other allergies as a kid, and had to get two weekly allergy shots for years.

    If you can remember back to the 1970’s and imagine cigarette smoke making you sick, you will know what I went through. People smoking in cars, restaurants, movies etc. You literally could not escape it.

    I’m not 100% sure how allergic I still am, but have developed a strong aversion to anything tobacco related.

    13 and counting, very nice. Admire your systematic discipline in testing out new things.
    Nice simple set up and great shave. You guys have really interesting products over there, never seen or even heard of many of them. Cool.

    (late post, power down)

    24 hours, same as yesterday but with the Kai, want to see how far I can go with this.

    Prep = none, quick face rinse
    Cream = Tabac
    Brush = Every Ready 200
    Face lathering. More than usual into the damp brush
    Razor = Muhle R89
    Blade = Kai (3)
    Passes = 3 +
    Technique = Usual, with XTG both ways in pass 2
    Post = Usual, Tabac ASL
    Scent = Bulgari wood essence
    Damage = none

    Score = 9 +
    Comments = super smooth with the R89. The Kai had a bit more bite than the Shark of yesterday, but gives nice audio feedback. I think on day 3 it is smoothing out, too much maybe?

    Hope you all had a great Friday

    24 hours, taking the Kai to Day 4

    Prep = none, quick face rinse
    Cream = Tabac
    Brush = Every Ready 200, soaked in water 10 minutes, shake dry and squeeze dry
    Face lathering. Tabac cream into the brush
    Razor = Muhle R89
    Blade = Kai (4)
    Passes = 3 +
    Technique = Usual, with XTG both ways in pass 2, more pressure needed now that the Kai is getting tired
    Post = Usual, Tabac ASL
    Damage = none

    Score = 9 +
    Comments = The Kai on day 4 is smoother but definitely not as sharp: needed many more buffing strokes, meaning the Alum told me where I had overdone it. For this razor I can take to Kai to day 3 which is neat. I have plenty more and am happy with it

    Enjoy your Saturday ladies and gents

    I am sorry you had to go through all that as a kid. The silver lining is that you didn't smoke cigarettes. I feel bad for people who are hooked on them because the amount of health problems they will face and of course the financial expense is just unfathomable.

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave)

    A new shave set up to start the weekend...Last week I reacquainted myself with the Super Shave X Platinum and was pleasantly surprised how good the shaves that I have had with them This week I'm returning to the Statum Platinum Chrome another firm favourite Subcontinent DE blade pairing it up with with the Parker 55SL making another wonderfully smooth efficient razor/blade duo.

    The Haslinger Aloe Vera soap is such a great performing nice mild fragranced shaving soap which my mature skin loves and creates an acceptable lather in a short space of time which doesn't dissipate or dry out in-between passes leaving a superb post shave feel.

    I will carry on using the same hardware until the end of the month.

    An invigorating cold water face and head shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off a with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.:cool:
