    Good afternoon.

I went with a classic old-fashioned barbershop setup today. Although I am not a fan of PAA, this soap is very good. It's not CK-6, but it does provide an easy, slick lather.
    Here's my lather:

This was an errorless three pass shave with a BBS result. I had very little feedback from the alum. After the witch hazel application, I splashed the very nice, old-fashioned Pinaud-Clubman Classic aftershave. It was an effortless shave. Take care.
  5. Looks wonderful Joe, and that's another nice razor. I feel like I need to get some Clubman in the rotation this week....

  6. Thanks Scott. Joe C piffed it to me and it performs well. It truly is a straight razor on a stick. Pinaud-Clubman Classic just is an aftershave that brings back the 50's and 60's to me.

    Brush: Semogue Hereditas - Boar
    Pre-Shave: Pears Transparent Soap
Lather: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
Aftershave: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

I was in the mood for a bay rum shave today. The brush, a birthday gift from my son, whipped up a nice and slick lather.

Wester Bros. straight performed admirably in this three pass shave. My face was left super smooth and error free. Can not get much better than this.

Hope you all have had a great day.

Wow! That was a close shave….

I did a rare evening shave since my day tomorrow keeps getting busier by the minute. For my last razor of the month I broke out the RR Blackhawk that I’ve been impatiently sitting on for a few weeks.

I had mentioned before that I tried (I believe) the earliest version of the Mongoose AC razor very early in my DE journey, and it was too much for me back then. Because of that experience, I went into this shave with a bit of residual trepidation.

I set to work on an almost two day old beard and had a super close, and very comfortable two pass shave. The Feather Pro cut a wide swath quickly and efficiently. I did not do a third pass, for the most part because it felt like there was nothing left to shave after the first two. I am smooooothh….

I do need to work on pressure and angle a bit around the chin area. No cuts or anything bad, just a bit more alum feedback to alert me.

I’ve become an instant fan of the Feather Pro blades and am wondering what else to try now.

Days shaving in January - 26
Current skin issues or irritation- None so far

    Enjoy the evening gents….
  17. Looks really nice Joe. Bay Rum shaves are always a good idea!

  19. Thanks Joe. As you know, we had a discussion as to why I would not use any PAA products. You did slip this one by me because I thought it was from Razor Emporium. For the rest of you that are wondering why I don't like PAA, it's because I find the artwork demonic in nature. As a Christian, I just don't want to support PAA for said reason.
