    Prep: Hot shower
    Razor: Razorback Blackhawk V2
    Blade: Feather AC Pro (2)
Two Pass Shave- One WTG, one XTG/ATG
    Brush: Omega 10049
    Lather: Cella
    Aftershave: Pinuad Clubman
Post: Alum block, Quinns Grapefruit Witch Hazel
    Soundtrack- Morning news

Second shave with the AC blade was sublime. I was able to take a shower before this one, and the Feather Pro blade seemed to smooth out a bit as well. Two pass all BBS today. This time I was also back to near zero alum feedback. I’m going to finish up the month finding out how far I can stretch this blade out.

A couple of notes on the RR Blackhawk V2:

The razor is light and provides a lot of audible feedback. Both are fine for me, and this seems to be a great, entry level priced model for those who want to try SE shaving.

The head angle is perfect and allows for some latitude without biting or lifting the blade off. The thin front edge makes it easy to get into the tight areas as needed.

My only complaint is that the lather slots are so narrow with an AC Pro blade installed, that they are useless. This causes the lather to roll down your face and drop off onto your chest and the sink. You have to continually rinse to avoid this.

I really like this razor as far as pure shaving performance, but will probably look to try something a bit less messy at some point….

    thanks Joe

    thanks again Joe

thanks for the encouragement Joe, the stings tell me I got close!

Very interesting, back on track Scott! Not sure I want the news as my soundtrack, too depressing

Audible feedback is kind of nice, for me I get this most with the Merkur Progress. Not sure if it helps with finding the right angle though, but it does focus the mind

Narrow lather slots, that's just what you need, lather all over the place! I don't like the dripping lather, especially not on the floor. It it gets that drippy I know I have added too much water to the lather

Might have to get back on the SE horse again soon, maybe

(Silly question: what's with powder? How does one use that in the cycle of post shave care? Not last, surely? Lather and powder on your favourite T-shirt, not a good look.
I saw a half full can of Old Spice powder in a vintage shop a while back. Only reason I never bought was that I didn't think I would know how to use it. Now I really feel like a shaving newbie.)

Thank Chris, and answers in no particular order.

I had the local news on because it’s another snow day, and I was listening for school closings. My kids wound up having a two hour delayed opening, so I don’t have to go in to the office until almost 10:30AM today. Normally it’s always music.

I mentioned the audible feedback in my review for those who are interested, but I agree with you. In all honesty, it’s something I could care less about either way. I’m usually focused on the music (or news this morning).

I cut my hair and shaved the back of my neck last night, I usually put some powder on the neck when I’m done. The talc just still happened to be sitting out when I took the pic. I do not use it during shaves…

I agree. I was just stating a fact that I never used a slant. It is not necessary for me to get one because I use my straights to achieve a slant angle.
Great shave, setup and post John. When I started wetshaving, I always tried to get the Santa Claus Beard lather. Later in my journey, I found out the more water added to the soap, the slicker and thinner the lather. Sometimes, my lathers were translucent and still did the job a la Williams Mug Soap.
BTW, I plead guilty on naming that brush. Lol! Take care.

My friend Bill M. who was banned from TSD forums uses a powder cannon to hit his face and neck with powder after a shave. I guess it is used to calm the skin down to lessen irritation. As a kid, barbers would use a straight to shave my neck and hit it with Pinaud-Clubman talc powder. Loved that smell.

Was the ban related to the powder cannon lol? That sounds crazy...

I love the small of the talc as well. Takes me straight back to the old school barbershop...

Great shave this morning. Repeated with Chiseled Face Sherlock. No negative issues, other than the appearance of some "red stuff" down at Cactus Nation. The aftershave minimized it. But I learned my lesson-went a little too strong down there. Only at the Southwest corner. 2 passes. I did have a different brush today than yesterday, which was the

    Brush-Stoylin Mid-sized "No-Name".

    Super Duper Outstanding.

    January 29 Headshave

    Good morning

    Mühle R102
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (2)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Cella SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Dome Turf: 4 days

    20240129_102025.jpg

I rarely go 4 days without a headshave so I had to use my R102 with an almost fresh blade to mow down the thick stubble. Needless to say that it was up to the task. Of course, Cella, the slickest soap in my opinion, was needed to help this razor to give me a dolphin smooth shave. However, did get a weep on the back of my dome and I felt it as I was doing my alum application. There wasn't any feedback elsewhere. I used my mirror to see the weep and it was miniscule. Witch hazel splash and the crisp feeling of the Aqua Velva made this session pleasant. I am happy with this shave. I will be doing a face shave this afternoon because it's too soon (way under 24 hrs) to do one now. Take care.

No. He had a disagreement with some of the members on another thread about sharing a controversial honing method. Words were exchanged... You get the idea.
