Barbicide is just a disinfectant, like Lysol. When I was having issues with my face getting winter sores, it was recommended that I disinfect any shaving gear, so I give my razors a quick 2 minute dunk in the stuff after use.

Oh thanks...DUNK is the key word I needed. Do you do the same to your brushes?

 

Shaving brushes? No.... The stuff is strong enough that you wouldn't want anything soaking the solution up. I'd worry it would break down the fibers. You can use other things to sanitize the razors as well. I just like the Barbicide jar because of the fact that it's right there in my face to remind me to do it

Fabulous Declaration Grooming shave with the GLS software. I do so enjoy this scent, extremely masculine. The scent profile is as follows: “This scent is inspired by Gratiot's trade and features tobacco, leather, rose, clove, nutmeg, sandalwood, vetiver, vanilla, musk, bergamot, and amber.”

I had a very nice shave with the Ever Ready 1912 razor. Following the shave I decided to bin the blade as this was the 10th shave with the blade. The end results was a close and comfortable shave without incident. I am now ready for a breakfast with my oldest daughter. For the pass few years she has taken me out to breakfast to celebrate my birthday. We opted for today as on my actual birthday we both had other plans.

The picture below are her gifts to me. I guess I am never really going to use up all the soaps in my den. Perhaps Anthony will help a bit once he starts shaving.

As promised, I am doing my face shave with a different setup than the one I used for this morning’s headshave. I have extolled the virtues of this razor ad nauseum so I won't go about it except to say that it is dynamite in my hands. The Sea Spice Lime from Seaforth is fast becoming one of my top favorites. I used just a little soap and really worked the lather to creamy goodness and slickness. Here's my lather:



Three error-free passes gave me a nice, smooth shave. Had some slight alum feedback, but it was all fine with me. Witch hazel was applied to tone down my skin and the nice, matching aftershave was a good feeling for this session. Take care.
