  6. Terrific Tuesday shave Joe. I empathize with you about your bowl because my shave stand fell and broke. Needless to say, I was not happy.

  7. I realize that, but I just wanted to explain the difference of an R41 and an R102 because there may be some members who are not aware of it.

    Good afternoon.

I did a 3 pass shave today. Didn't get a BBS shave, but it was an error-free comfortable shave. This was the 8th shave on this blade so I wasn't surprised. I binned it after the shave. The Captain's Choice North produces a nice, slick lather, but you do have to work it. The juniper berry scent is clean, but it's not overpowering. It's too bad that it's unobtainium.
    Here's my lather:

I had very little alum feedback. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave so I was good to go. I think that I will use Cella shave soap tomorrow and one of my straights. It may be one of my big boys, but I may hold off until next week. Of course, this can all change. Lol! Take care.

  14. I've not participated in the thread this month, but kept up my bowl lathering...until yesterday. I used my clippers to get rid of most of the beard and kept the van dyke like you see in my profile picture. Back to face lathering and no problems making a slick and protective lather. I just don't want to take the time to make a slick bowl lather when face lathering is so simple for me.

  17. Although I enjoy bowl lathering, I sometimes get lazy and face lather. I only facelather with soaps that have lost their frag or have very little scent left. The same is true for my creams in a tube and my Tabac stick. I get where you're coming from Troy. It is good to change your routine.
