    Terrific Thursday shave Joe. Gee, that one unforeseeable glitch, but it is easily fixed.

    Good afternoon.

    TSD Irish Spring SS and AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Modessa Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 23 hrs.

    I wanted to open the month with an easy DE Shave. The Van der Hagen got the call.
    It's amazing how my opinion of this razor changed over the years. It gives a great shave and today's session was no exception. I really was done with 2 passes, but I just like 3 passes because that's what I like to do. I got a über BBS today without any red liquid being present.
    I face lathered this soap and it gives a slick, non-voluminous lather. That's fine because it's all about the slickness for me. I will say this soap needs a lot of water to get a decent lather. Again, no big deal for me.
    However, the alum feedback was evident throughout my neck area. Splashed on the witch hazel and the matching aftershave to end this shave. Take care.

    Excellent VdG shave Joe. Are you close to having the soap meet up with the Edmund Fitzgerald?

    Thanks Joe. This soap is not close to being Fitzed. I think that I may have only done 20 shaves with it. I have also use my other 2 Shave Den Soaps. I will have to check my records to see how many times that I used the Shave Den Irish Spring.

    @JACarbone Well Joe, my records indicate that I shaved exactly 21 times with TSD Irish Spring instead of my estimate of 20. With a 4 oz soap, I am far from fitzing it.

    Flexible, Favourite, Feather, Fatip, Fine, Felce, whatever grabs my Fancy

    24 hours

    Prep = cold water splash
    Preshave = none
    Soap = Chiselled Face Cryogen
    Brush = Omega 10049 white
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Gillette Aristocrat 1938 No 15
    Blade = Gillette 7 o’clock super platinum (black)
    Passes = 2 +
    Post = Usual + Proraso Rinfrescante
    Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence
    Damage = none

    Phew. Weather here hot enough to finally try the Cryogen. Beautiful lather. Initial thought: what menthol? Half-way through the 1st pass it arrived! Bit tricky to focus on the job at hand through all the tears. Excellent therapy for dry eyes/blepharitis and blocked sinuses! Very nice lather though, would have to say on a par with Stirling, even though this is only my first time using it
