DE SOTD, Saturday Feb3rd 2024

Razor : Yaqi Tile head with a Yaqi brass nickel coated handle- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Well built and machined razor head of 316 SS + adequate finish for my shaving needs. I like to use a Kai SS extra wide blade for more blade feel, it seems as I shave more over the years some blade feel is what I enjoy it seems(tame to mid range).
Blade : Kai SS (6) sharp and smooth with excellent longevity.
Soap : Tabac puck, mild flowery clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Coat tails" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice (firmer) splay scrubber + excellent lather generator.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi tile 316 SS razor head with a Kai SS blade.

Bowl Lather.
Bowl: Tesco's Ceramic 'Cosmo' Side Bowl.
Lather: Arko Hydrate Shaving cream.
Blade: Personna Comfort Coated Lab Blue. (D2)
Razor: FaTip Grande.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse. /Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With Care+Witch Hazel./Gummy Traditional Turkish Lavender Cologne. /Cien Aloe Vera Body Lotion.

This morning I put a small amount of Shaving cream directly into the damp synthetic to face lather, dipping the brush tips in water when needed building up a lather to the consistency I prefer.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick-ups close comfortable near BBS shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Cien Aloe Vera Body Lotion.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

I had to do a little repair work on the new Kudu soap because the coffee grinds on the soap puck were preventing the lather from coming up properly but after I scraped them off the lather was perfect. This soap is glycerine based, I love its beautiful coffee/peppermint scent, this is supposed to be the medium mentholated variant but let me tell you that it’s PLENTY cold, and the skincare is wonderful. The Stoffel is a brand new balm from Bundubeard and it has a really nice minty scent, it gives such soothing with lots of moisturizing, and it’s FRIGIDLY cold - Jaco my broer hierdie balm is ‘n skat! Finally the gorgeous old school European scent of the Alt Innsbruck aftershave along with its icy cold menthol punch and I’m good to go. Two passes did the job for me - another phenomenal BBS shave that I enjoyed to the max!

Morning DE shave, first in a long time.

Having been fully bearded until very recently, it's been months since I've had a proper DE shave and even longer since I used this 74. While I can't remember which shave number it's on...gotta be close to 10...it seems to be holding up just fine. Still not crazy about the Sticky.

The Palmolive Shaving Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #41 2-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Razor and a J.A. Henckels Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
