Aah the penny drops! my concern was water ingress into the handle and eventually degradation. Bit of epoxy to the rescue. Just another around the problem. Nice tip Gary.

 

Yes holding the two side by side I can see no difference in the head/cap/OC or baseplate. Just the handles, the materials and the sets in general. I guess they felt satisfied with the design of the former and just modifying the latter. One would have to research the different meanings of the patent numbers, but that's in the too hard basket, and just digs the rabbit hole even deeper.
