    I was overdue for a headshave so I included it with my face shave. My first impression the last time that I used this blade was not a favorable one. I decided to go to setting 6 with this razor to see if I get a better feel for this blade. I still find this blade a little rough, but it did give me a nice 3 pass face and headshave. I could have stopped at 2 passes, but I just like 3 passes for my routine.

    Did get BBS shave all around. I didn't leak blood on the face, but I must have caught the dome because there was a tiny blood streak on the lather. Checked with the mirror and didn't see anything. I am OK with it.
    Did get some alum feedback under my chin and the back of the dome. Splashed on the witch hazel and the Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave. I am very happy with this shave. Take care.

    Friday February 9 - Favourites February

    Prep: Hot shower with Aleppo olive oil soap with 20% bay laurel oil

    Razor: Supply matte black stainless 2.0 injector with SE comb plate / vintage US-made Schick Plus Platinum (9)

    Soap: JM Fraser's Shave Cream

    Brush: Jason's "Canada Goose"

    Lather Bowl: none

    Post: rinse, alum, rinse, Lucky Tiger After Shave and Face Tonic, and Clubman VIBR

    Last shave: Sunday February 4 -- 6 days

    This setup:

    IMG_20240111_184506_kindlephoto-257697967.jpg

    I am getting in a rut - this was the same setup as my last shave and the one before that.

    I did two passes although I only really needed one to be acceptably cleanshaven. The first pass was WTG everywhere, the second was XTG on my face and ATG on my neck. The result was a very smooth DFS. Not quite a BBS (likely wouldn't pass the cottonball test on my neck) but very close. No errors, quiet alum. The Clubman VIBR over top the lightly orange-scented Lucky Tiger was an excellent finish.

    I was clean, perked up, and all ready to go out and shovel snow...

    Hope everyone has a great weekend!

    There's nothing wrong with repeating shaves if it works for you John. In fact, it makes it easier to use the same stuff.

    48 hours

    Prep = 3x cold water soak, Jermyn Street preshave
    Soap = Captain Fawcett Scapicchio
    Brush = Omega Pura Setola
    Bowl = Timeless
    Razor = Fatip Lo Storto OC slant
    Blade = Gillette 7 o’clock super platinum Black (1)
    Passes = 2 ++ including ATG top lip
    Post = Usual CWR, Alum, CWR, brush squeezings, CWR, Thayers. Fine Latigo ASL

    Score = 9.9 / 10
    Comments = An almost perfect shave. Shockingly smooth. Always better with 48 hour growth.
    Soap: loaded ½ scoop into the timeless bowl, still way too much lather!
    Blade: interesting, when aligning this in the Fatip (which is usually a chore) I noticed that the one edge looked a bit odd. Removed the blade and binned it because the application of the wax/glue dot was right on the edge of the blade. Never seen that before.
    ASL: Fine Latigo very enjoyable and light in this hot weather

    Have a Fine Saturday gents

    Greetings,

    (Face & Head Shave)
    A new shave set up to start the weekend. After the comfortable shaves that I had with my Parker 55SL Semi-Slant razor last month the Merkur 37C, is slightly more assertive than the Parker 55SL, but is my favourite and most reached for out of my three slant razors.

    An acceptable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

    Finishing the shave off a with a few small squirts of Ard Al Zafraan Dirham Oud EdP to the pulse points.

    My face & precious swede are feeling smooth and smelling divine.;)

    Stay safe, and enjoy the start of the weekend ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Nice score Gary...I've yet to try/purchase a Shaving Scuttle. Are you going to keep it as a shaving displaying object of desire or actually going to use it for it's purpose.?. Either way, it's a great score.:love055:

    Super Saturday Shave Chris! I have heard that glue spots will make the blade a little uneven. Fortunately, I have never encountered it.
