The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #217 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Duru Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm AC with a Yaqi Milano 316SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, mild range to tame mid range. Small head parts, I assemble on wash cloth for convivence so not drop parts. Simple clamping design of blade makes for good results + very affordable for most when just buying the head or razor. Works well with all AC blades IMO. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline (4) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : La Toja stick, very mild clean scent (smoky?) with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Casino clubs" 26mm Timberwolf synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Nivea refreshing AS + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi SE Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

Here my Shave of the Day (11.02.2024)


Pre: Furbo Sansdolor // Razor: Aylsworth Drakkant + // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: La Toja // Brush: Semogue OC Boar // Aftershave: Floid Genuine

A shave as good as it gets. I had the La Toja in the very back of my den for years. Found it and thought: Why not give it a try?

This was not a mistake. Wonderful scent and lather. Why i ignored her so long, don ´t know. But from now on the soap will be in the regular rotation. Love the scent. So fresh and clean.

Lathered up with the great Boar. Normally i am a Synthetic Guy but from time to time there needs to be a Boar or Silvertip. Lather has been created fast and in very good quality. More than enough for three passes.

Aylsworth Drakkant +…wow…i LOVE this razor. Feels like build for eternity and the handling as well as the shave itself was top notch. If i ever get my hands on a Drakkant + it will be mine. This one is a loan.

2,5 passes and the shave was over. Nothing left. Smooth as a Dolphin. Wonderful.

To end up the shave i used the Spanish Floid with it´s powdery / fruity scent. The Menthol is spot on and the skinfeel outstanding.

Nothing than 10 out of 10

Menthol Monday - what a great Grand Freeze!

Mama mia am I ever frozen stiff from using this setup - the Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap’s gorgeous scent filled my bathroom, the lather was sumptuous, the menthol sensation pummelled my face relentlessly, and the postshave feeling was wonderful. The Stoffel balm has such a nice minty scent, it’s also frigidly cold, and it’s so moisturizing as well as soothing. Last but not least the Floid Vigoroso aftershave with its lovely old school barbershop scent along with its potent menthol kick finished the job. Another three pass BBS work of art - what a brilliant shave this was!

GEMonday shave, February 12 2024

Razor : Gem Damaskenne OC 1912. Mfg 1912-15 (for the OC)- mild to tame mid range. First of the 1912 models came out with open comb and later models where closed after 1915 and both are excellent razors. Hard to find a rare Damaskenne O.C in the wild.
The razor has been a pleasure to use and enjoyable to own. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle!
Soap : La Toja stick, nice mild clean slight smokey scented + excellent lather qualities.
Brush :Yaqi "Sagrada Familia" 22mm 2band badger, Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. Small handle but WoW type of face feel and performance IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a Stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Damaskenne OC with a Gem coated blade. (Just one of those shaves that puts a smile on my face for closeness with no issues.)
