February 27, 2024 High Proof Razor Gillette 7 O’clock Black Thäter 4125/3 LEA Classic Shave Soap and Aftershave
February 28, 2024 Feather AS D2 Feather PAA ShaveRite 210 LEA Classic Shave Soap and Aftershave Happy Wednesday. Another great shave to start the day. The soap is disappearing quickly. I expect it to be gone within 3-4 shaves at the most. Have a great day and take care.
Wednesday, February 28 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson Tulip 3~~Gem Clog-Pruf/Gem~~St. Johns Bay Rum The T3 knows how to load some soap. Beefiest knot/handle in my den. Fresh Gem blade cleaned up the 48hour stubble with aplomb. Finished with a classic Bay Rum.
February 29, 2024 High Proof Razor Gillette 7 O’clock Black Zenith Boar LEA Classic Shave Soap and Aftershave
Thursday, February 29 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson Persian Jar 2~~Kampfe Bros. Star Razor/Gem~~C.O. Bigelow Bay Rum The PJ2 has one of the softest knots I own. Luckily, the AoS Cream (not really cream, anymore, rather a softish croap) is easy to load. Crazy what kind of shaving contraptions were made back in the day. The engraving work is astounding. C.O. Bigelow makes a fine Bay Rum. Sadly, the balm has been discontinued.
This week I had a double focus, boar brushes and western grind kamisori. I happy to report the donut hole is growing. For the stank curious the lablel you can't see is Jicky. I also used my Cobra Classic one day. All in all excellent shaves and think this 3017 will go quickly as I need to use a lot of soap per shave. This week I had a 'fatty mass' removed from my back. It was not big and not a risk but I wanted it gone. Korea is currently undergoing a strike by junior doctors so I was worried that my surgery would be canceled. Fortunately my surgeon is a professor, so she was not on strike. It was nice in that the hospital was not very busy due to the strike and the nurse patient ratio was outstanding. I checked in at 8:00 and out in under four hours.
March 1, 2024 High Proof Razor Gillette 7 O’clock Black Mr EE LE #004 LEA Classic Shave Soap and Aftershave Happy Friday Everyone. It is a rainy messy day here in the ATL. I am glad I am working remotely and avoiding all the crazy traffic. Another excellent shave to start the day. I am down to around 4 grams of soap left. This one will be "done and dusted" this weekend. Take care and have a great day.
Friday, March 1 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson 57 "The Douglas"~~Wolfman WR2/Astra SP~~Barrister & Mann Kyovu I realized at the start of my shave, that my neck was terribly irritated from yesterday's shave. I went ahead and shaved, but limited the shave to one and a half passes. I might have to skip tomorrow's shave.
Saturday, March 2 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~Gillette #44/Sharp Star~~YSL M7 Oud Absolu As you can see, I shaved. My neck was healed and a fresh Sharp Star along with focussed technique, allowed for a smooth shave. No more irritation. I am still working on the AoS cream and while it's reducing, it will be some time before it's 3017'd. The black-label Oud Absolu is very similar to the OG M7. Perhaps a more pronounced citrusy, top-note. It's a glorious stank.
Well 3017 #2 is in the books, as Grooming Department Naranga y Sangre (Orange and Leather) is in the books. I’m going to spend the next few shaves picking out my next soap victim, which will be a brighter scent after a few months of darker scents. Maybe Catie’s Bubbles Waterlyptus, Maybe a Frankensoap mix of Tobs Peppermint and Sudsy Soapery Lavendar and Peppermint. Maybe a Stirling fruit and menthol combo. Dunno yet… No pics, cause I’m lazy, but I’m pretty sure you have all seen an empty tub of soap before…
