Razor : Razor : Yaqi 2nd generation Mellon head 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle- Mfg 2023>, tame mid to mid range. Machining and finish QC are excellent for my shaving needs. This is one of my favorites when dialed in + performs well with some blade feel. The audio feedback is what I enjoy mostly + results it offers. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gillette Perma-sharp (3) sharp and smooth + reasonable longevity. Gillette makes some of the nicest blades to shave with.
Soap : Ach Brito Lavanda cream, nice mild bright lavender with a touch of (mint?) with excellent lather qualities. Lavender soaps have to be one of the best for skin protections while shaving with a nice scent usually.
Brush : Yaqi "Lucky dice" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic fan knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice big handle for big hands and a excellent knot(very rare) Yaqi fan knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavada cologne with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Mellon head 316 SSP razor with a Gillette Perma-sharp blade.

Here my Shave of the Day (13.03.2024)


Razor: 1922 / 1923 Gillette New Improved // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: BBS American Barbershop // Brush: Jayaruh 421 // Aftershave: BBS American Barbershop

What a great shave this has been. This is probably my oldest Safety Razor in my den. Such an honor to shave with a razor so old…

The shave itself was truly amazing. The razor in combination with the blade was SO smooth, gentle and thoroughly that i don ´t think that newer razors can do a better job. Stunning.

The brush had no problems creating tons of wonderful smelling lather. It is a soft soap (almost a Croap) with a fantastic scent. Not a typical Barbershop Scent. You get more of Oakmoss and Citrus notes. So, for me it is a very „fresh“ interpretation of the good ol´Babrbershop scent.

2,5 passes were enough to get absolutely BBS.

The Aftershave with it´s wonderful ingredients is absolutely Top Notch. BBS Soaps really did a great job on this one.

Nothing less than 10 out of 10

The Williams Mug Shaving Soap lathered well with Semogue SOC Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Yaqi SHaDE Razor and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Half Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pharaoh's Dreamsicle After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Not too much to say today except another fabulous three pass BBS shave with my absolute favourite cream. When I first started shaving at the age of 14 my Dad, of dearly loved and cherished memory bought me this 50s Super Speed, a brush that I can’t remember the name of, some blades but I forgot which brand, a tube of Noxzema Lather cream, and a very nicely scented aftershave that I also forgot the name of. Anyway for so many this cream was the one and only product I used until it was discontinued but some years ago I was lucky to score a bunch of them so every so often I give myself a treat and I use this wonderful stuff. The scent is so nice, (to me) the lather is such a pleasure to work up, I love the menthol sensation, and the skincare is unbeatable. The Prep has the same scent as the Noxzema cream and it leaves my skin feeling like it was born again, and do I ever love the old school barbershop scent of the Polar Ice aftershave. Smooth as a baby’s little tukhis - what a shave!
