    Days growth = 1

    Repeat shave/mini focus

    Prep = cold water prep and TOBS Jermyn street as preshave
    Cream = TOBS Oud
    Brush = Chubby 2
    Razor = Gillette Tuckaway
    Blade = Bolzano (2)
    Passes = 3+
    Post = Usual
    ASL = PR Barbe Dure
    Scent = Bulgari Wood Essence
    Damage = none

    1. Added some glycerine to the TOBS, not sure that it made all that much difference
    2. It may be the TOBS needs somewhat less water than expected to make it ‘thicker.’ Next time...
    3. The Oud persists for a while despite the ASL and is real pleasant. Will need to find a stronger Oud ASL or EdP to last me through the day. Any thoughts/suggestions Gents?

    Looks like it has a nice spread on the brush

    Thanks John, I like the Oud. only used if a few times. Non tallow so a bit thinner than others. Still working on dialling this in. I am not great on describing scents, but to me it is like walking in a recently burnt forest in the rain. Hints of smoked wood, moss maybe, fungus, not sure, but I do like this more and more. Wish the scent stayed around a bit longer, but very happy with it.

    The Semogue has broken in wonderfully. I fell out of love with my boar brushes for a while, and reached for my synthetics for a long period of time then I got the urge to start using them again, so glad I did. They are excellent for hard soaps /triple milled soaps/shave sticks "once they are broken in" and deliver and perform excellently. I still love my Synthetic brushes for overall performance, especially for bowl lathering with Creams/Croaps. Give the humble boar brushes some love, and they'll remind you how good they are before the influx of Synthetic shaving brushes. IMHO, Semogue handles are better handles than the Omega ones. I personally prefer The Omega boar knots, I've yet to try a Semogue handle/Omega boar knot hybrid which would make an excellent combo. Give your humble boar brushes some use & attention that they rightly deserve.:happy088:

    This morning, I closed out(for now)the Pages(Hub City Soaps)combination. Clean and clear along the cheeeks&sideburns. Problems at South Porcupine and Cactus. 2 Knicks at S. Porucupine, one at Cactus. No pain, they just "showed up". No cuts, Polka-dots. I must solve the right side of N. Porcupine, as I don't succeed there as much as the left side. That's a nuisance, but I'll work at it. 2 passes. Nice work from the aftershave. Pretty Outstanding.

    Greetings,

    Early morning shave,

    A comfortable Turkish themed shave to finish my shaving week off on a high note.

    My continuing Treet blade focus has been wonderful. It's made me realise how good Subcontinent DE blades can be.

    Both of the Parker 92R & Lord L125 have performed superbly throughout the week, especially the L125 providing me with close comfortable shaves.

    Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Arko Fresh ASB.

    My face is feeling cool smooth & smelling divine.;)

    Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.:cool:

    Days growth = 1

    Repeat shave, same software and hardware
    Bolzano on Day 3 was still fine but binned it anyway

    Today I used one full scoop of the TOBS Oud, adding only7 cc water for a thicker lather
    No glycerine
    TOBS creams tend to dry out faster than other creams/soaps so the idea today was to get through the 1st pass faster, so I did XTG both ways in most areas and ATG in some areas. 2nd pass was slicker and worked fine

    No ASL
    No EdT or EdP
    Want to see how long the Oud scent lasts
    Sort of lingered on till mid-morning but not beyond that

    Have a fantastic Thursday shave and Thursday day gents

    Excellent setup and shave Barry. The Indian people know how to manufacture DE blades. My Gillette Wilkerson Sword Saloon Pack DE blades are made from India and they are fantastic.

    Two fantastic shave the past two morning’s. I am enjoying this nice run of warmer weather we have been having here on LI. I have include several workout activities outside including 40 + minutes walks around the neighborhood and weighted rope jumping. Of course the X3 Bar workouts are still a mainstay, albeit inside early in the morning.

    The two shaves resulted in extremely close and comfortable results with two soaps that I had not used as of yet in 2024.

    I hope you all have a fabulous day.
