March 22 Gillette NEW SC, Feather (1), and Kent BK4 I'm currently 3017'ing two tubes of Proraso cream and a container of Stirling Executive Man soap. Lately, I've been using mostly Proraso. I'm enjoying my new Aesop bowl (thanks @Primotenore) and my AHC aftershave lotion (thanks @Keithmax). Other 3017's: I recently used up all my Astra SP blades. I'm almost finished with my last bottle of Thayer's Witch Hazel and down to the last few sprays of Stetson Cologne. (I lost my marbles a long time ago, so I guess this doesn't count as a recent 3017.) Hope you all are well. Roll Tide!

Friday, March 22 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson 90th Anniversary Astor~~1936 Gillette Aristocrat De Luxe/Personna 74 Here's a sharper picture of the 'Crat. You can see that the purple liner has a tear along the hinge and that the lettering has a good amount of abrasion. Excellent shave with the same soap/blade as yesterday. The Astor was a necessary choice. I needed something with the same class as the razor. Funny, I have this urge to don my cutaway, spats and top hat. Now excuse me, whilst I peruse the New Yorker.
I'm back after my trip to the homeland. I visited the Ronald Reagan library where I got to see a retired Air Force1. The docent told me that the 'Football' also contains a puck of Tabac and Taba cologne so you can witness the end of the world smelling great. Through the end of March I will try different soaps to see which will be my next 3017 target. First up is a brand new puck of Stirling Electric Sheep. I find Electric Sheep out performs my other pucks of Stirling although the scent is not horrible and not great either. My Snail Forge razor, Wootz steel with a mamoth tusk scales has afantastic edge and delivered an epic shave.

The SS is a beefy tool, but holds the blade at a good angle. Finished with an over-spraying of the TF classic.
Sunday, March 24 AoS Sandalwood~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic Badger~~Gillette RFB/Sharp Star~~Thor's Hammer Bay Rum w/Lime AS I can say with certainty this soap'll be toast before the end of the week. This razor/blade combination just works---even on the ATG neck pass. Cleaned off the face with my usual Thayer's Unscented Witch Hazel, to which I add some Camphor and Eucalyptus. Closest I can get to the sadly-discontinued "medicated" Thayer's. Healthy, double-splash of the Thor's Hammer.
What's ol' Al Neumann up to these days? His brother Bill did a fine job in the shaving world, I'll say that right now(oh, I just DID say that).

I apologize for not posting yesterday. Maya was rear ended on Friday evening coming home from work. Thankfully she is ok but her car is not drivable. So I went up yesterday and gave her my car and rented a car for myself. In looking at the damage, I would not be surprised if her car was totaled. Well, live happens. At least I was able to get in some great shaves this weekend. I just found out that I can get the FHS-10 blades in bulk at prices very close the Feather DE blades. I love this razor with Gem blades so now I will see how much I like it with FHS-10 blades. Take care and have a great day.
