Tuesday, March 26 Art of Shaving Sandalwood ~~Simpson CH2~~Gillette New SC/Sharp Star~~Lavande 44 Another one bites the dust.
I think the insurance company is going to total the car, Clint. The original idea was to buy the car inexpensively after my sales team had put 100,000 miles on it, That way they could cheaply learn to drive in a car that we wouldn’t care if it got banged it up. After the cost of insurance and theft on the Hyundai, it would’ve been smarter and cheaper to just let them wreck my wife’s Audi. That is now the new plan. Fingers crossed!
How is the lather on that Fine soap? It’s one of a few I haven’t tried, but the scent is fabulous, and probably my favorite AS. Not that I’m planning to buy any soap in the near future, mind you, but when I do, I need to know if I should go for the fine or the sterling executive man.
Randy, I understand that the triple-milled Fine soap is no longer available. Like you, I also enjoy using Fine Platinum aftershave. Being in such dramatically different social strata, I'm truly amazed that we have found common ground on aftershave. You may unknowingly have some hillbilly DNA. I'm currently using Stirling Executive Man. While it is not triple-milled, I find it to be a very nice soap in every respect: lather, slickness, scent, value, etc.
The OG Fine soap was a fantastic product. The lather was top-tier and the scents were, imo, really nice. I cannot attest to the current iteration.
Are you interested in the NEW Fine soaps, or the original? I'm just finishing up on Fine Latigo(New), which I've loved, but the price has increased some.
Paul, thanks for the recommendation. I have a ton of shaving soap, so I don't plan to buy more for awhile.

Others have already answered, Randy…these Fine Classic pucks were fantastic soaps. Alas, they are near unobtanium now.
Wednesday, March 27 Valobra Patchouly~~Hucklaration B5~~Gillette New SC/Personna 74 Not a 3017, but I figure since I started the thread I can post this shave. And what a shave it was. The Gillette New SC has come home to roost, thanks to the generosity of @clint64 Thank you, my friend. BTW, I find this razor to be slightly more aggressive than its LC cousin. The Valobra is such a great soap. I missed using it. Hope my 3017 friends are all well. I'll choose another product to Titanic before too long.
Your Hyundai has a lot more miles than Maya's. Part of me wants the car to be totaled and the other part wants it fixed. The later option would safe me a good bit of money and hassle. In the end, it will work out the way it is meant to work out. We have been very lucky with the cars the girls drive. Our thought was to get them a new car at 16 and then have them drive it through grad school. We bought Asha a car in 2013 and she is still driving it with no accidents. We bought Maya a car in 2017 and until this she was accident free. Even this accident is not her fault.
Thanks, brother. I knocked this one out and Charlie @chazt graciously sends me a HUGE tub of AoS Sandalwood/Valobra Unscented and---weak as I am, tomorrow a Taylor of Old Bond Street Oud is expected to arrive. I am moving in the WRONG DIRECTION!!!!
Congrats on another one "Done and Dusted" You are certainly welcome. I too find the SC to be more aggressive than the LC.
Aaaah, I was partly kidding, but Latigo's been great. I guess I have about a ton muhself. That's why I had to open up a den in my bedroom.
Beautiful NEW SC, Joseph! Gillette hit home runs with the NEW SC and LC. Those are my two favorite razors.
