Glad, to hear Maya is OK, scary. Paul, glad to hear you are OK too, I hope you can overcome the emotional trauma quickly. I get upset if my car even gets a scratch.
I am trying to find my next 3017 target, I will make the final call next Monday. Castle Forbes Lime is one of my favorites and today's shave was epic. The Silverloaf is a heavy smilling razor, characters I appreciate in a straight. The CF is about 85% done and combined with it's preformance it is a leading candidate. The only negative is that this is one of the few soaps I would feel a strong urge to replace. I found this tub of Catie's Bubbles in my soap drawer. I like it but for me it is just one level below top tier, but I do like the scent for spring and summer. The Herr and Razor is keeping with this weeks smiling straight theme. The second shave with CB featured my Janus Toggle. This is one of fifty, built by on OCD engineer in stainless steel. It is more aggressive and more solid than the orginal toggle. I remember when it came out for some reason the fanboys on another site panned it. I think it represents and big improvement over the orginal toggle and it shaves excellent for me. Next up Stirling Executive Man. Typical Stirling performance and the Toggle made another appereance. Back to the smiling razor theme with my Ali's bade. Maybe it is pschological but Proraso in the tub does not perfrom well for me, I threw the tube away. But... Proraso in the tube is oustanding. A Proraso theme shave that was epic.

Thursday, March 28 XPEC~~Simpson PL8~~Gillette Senator/Personna 74~~Dior Leather Oud Forgot how excellent XPEC soap is. Dior Leather Oud has a very realistic leather accord. The Oud is more of a secondary player.
Friday, March 29 ToBS Oud~~Simpson X3~~Gillette #44 RFB/Personna 74~~Diptyque Oud Palao First ever usage of a ToBS product. My reaction? Nice cream; very soft; lathers well; reasonable slickness; modicum of post-shave slick-feel. Now to the scent... For this price, it should come as no surprise that there isn't a bit of oud in the formula. Nada. I get a faint, woody, pencil-shaving aroma. Not strong at all and while pleasant, no oud period. I have to say the AoS Oud is not only a better product, but has a scent that comes "closer" to what real oud smells like. So, I ordered another tub of the AoS yes, I just completed a 3017 of my last tub. The ToBS is mos def® a candidate for my next 3017. Finished with a stank that happens to smell like oud...because there's oud in it! Oud Palao. Glorious stank.
Ahh, I'm feeling somewhat better. I just hate being in accidents(oops, does anyone LOVE being in accident? lol). There are times I think I should stop driving. But it's pleasant and easy where I live(I just need to cut back on backing out of parking spots). Still waiting for the insurance to help.
Happy Easter Weekend, everyone! I want to show off a super cool @Jayaruh project that will house a very special E-4 Fatboy. As usual, he is doing a masterful job! It is made of Patagonian Rosewood and will have antique brass hardware. I am over the moon with it! https://jrshaving.blogspot.com/2024/03/box-83-started.html This photo caption on Jim's shaving blog made me smile.
March 29th Supply SE w Proline (3) TGN Finest / Maple Fine Platinum Classic SS Historic Embargo AS Went with a full 3 pass shave today after a series of 2 passers.
