    The Arko Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    My God I had so much fun with the Noxzema cream - that beautiful old school scent filled my bathroom, the lather was sumptuous, the menthol sensation felt heavenly, and my skin felt like it was born again. I would give up every other soap and cream if it was still available. The Prep has exactly the same delightful scent and it’s so cooling, moisturizing as well as soothing, and the Polar Ice aftershave also has a wonderful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Three slow, relaxing passes gave me such a great BBS shave that was such a pleasure!

    • Maggard V3A on an anodized MR11 handle
    • Bic Chrome Platinum (5)
    • Arko stick, face lathered with a synthetic brush
    • Followed up with alum block, Dickinson’s Witch Hazel (not required after this shave, but it’s all part of the routine) and Mennen Skin Bracer.
    This head (which I now have two versions of) is my top performer, along with Parker Variant. For some reason, it never gives me irritation - I wish I could say the same about my vintage Gillettes…
