SE SOTD, Thursday April 5th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316 SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023> mild to tame mid range depending on blade used (Feather makes 4 different AC blades) or gap shim made. Excellent machining and finish QC + simple clamping system & very nimble to work the face. I like to assemble on a wash cloth because head parts are small. Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild(4) sharp and smoooth with great longevity.
Soap : Yaqi "The Green", nice natural scented like walking in blossom batch of some sort, very enjoyable with excellent lather qualities. This soap is made in collaboration with Master soap creations S.A & Yaqi for their line of soaps and fragrances.
Brush : Yaqi "Goblin" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Great brush to use for my shave needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi "the green" splash(very addictive beautifully natural scented IMO) with witch hazel+ a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + minimal irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP razor with a Kai Captain titian mild blade.

This was a special shave. The Enders Speed Shaver is one of my favorite razors and Dragons Blood is one of my favorite scents. So the combination of the red Deluxe Speed Shaver and the superb Subtle Art Soap Draconis made for a splendid experience. The custom restored Freddie Payne Ever-Ready brush with A P Shave co Gelousy badger knot enhanced the event even more. This was also my first time using the Hendrix Classics Enders adapter. It worked flawlessly. Not shown are my trusty Captains Choice Products copper lather bowl and Geo F Trumper Coral skin food.

Razor : Gem 1912, 1921 variant. Mfg 1912-1940's. ASR made millions of 1912 variants with different brand names because they where just that good a razor. They sold under Ever Ready and Star brands + Gem and some department stores most likely. USA armed forces also had lots of 1912 models during WW1 stamped army property. I find it a great tame mid range to mid range depending on operator technique. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (5). Very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle IMO.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild herbal scent with some of the best lather qualities I have used.
Brush : Yaqi "Red Zebra" 26mm snow leopard synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. One of my favorite brushes for some time.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Razorock American barber + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Gem 1912 with a coated Gem blade.

The Arko Shave Stick lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher Razor and a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lilac Vegetal. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Another great shave. This Schick B2 is about as mint as they get. It may actually be the first time it's ever been used. The Moon Soaps Amaretto smells incredible. And this brush by Freddie Payne is superb. A little Geo F Trumper extract of limes skin food and a splash of Clubman Pinaud rounded things out. And of course the Captains Choice Products
Copper bowl is always a great choice.

 

Very nice looking razor Greg, it does look hardly ever used! Lucky you!
